Shinedown is a hard rock band that originated in Jacksonville, Florida. The members are vocalist Brent Smith, guitarist Jasin Todd, bassist Brad Stewart, and drummer Barry Kerch. The group was formed in early 2001 and signed a contract with Atlantic Records in 2002. Their song "Save Me" was the theme song for WWE No Mercy 2005. They opened for Van Halen on the Van Halen US tour 2004.
Formed in early 2001 by Brent Smith (vocalist), Jasin Todd (guitarist), Brad Stewart (bassist), and Barry Kerch (drummer), the Jacksonville, Florida band wasted no time making their mark; starting strong with their 2003 album, Leave a Whisper, and 2005 release, Us and Them. The band also released a live DVD titled Live From the Inside in August, 2005. The DVD contains a full-length Shinedown concert held at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Shinedown has pulled together one of the fastest selling rock albums today. Certified as a Platinum album on September 21, 2005, Leave a Whisper sells 4,000 copies a day.
