This band is awesome. I love the way they go from one guy singing to the other screaming. I love the video too. Its cool how they're all basically dressed the same. The camera shots and angles are sweet too. I think that is a big part in what makes this video so awesome.

the song, without the screaming, reminds me of The Hives and that band is currently huge right now, well in the music scene here. The Hives also have a great stage presence, and I heard that Showbread has a certain presence on the stage. Back to the lyrics: Your eulogy is like poetry, But your mouth is like a magazine That's pretty straight forward - the guy prefers this person dead, may even find it blissful. Maybe the last line supports this line - "Now find the fault because your boyfriend can't read" - maybe he sees the person in a lower light because of her relationship? I am thinking that he is singing about a certain slut: "Turning over in interrupted slumber, You ponder others, growing ever wakeful," (others = guys that she slept with in the past) "So unhappy, yet so preoccupied," (based on my experience, ha, i can relate to that) "You are vacant and submissive, receptive to abuse, Virtue isn't tangible, and sense of self is dated, Names constant on your cracked lips are now eviscerated" I think that when you sleep around, then yes you sort of think about your sense of self, he is talking about how this girl has lost her sense of self and how she's becoming submissive to just any guy. "Your spine is made of metal, Your veins are bound in electric tape, And all along an impulse lights at random in your face, " I'm thinking about how he is talking about how she can't control her temptations, sexual impulses, how her actions are just automatic rather than calculated, maybe not even thinking about morals ie her sense of self personally, i don't see any discourses of gossip..i see this guy talking and describing a real slut. that's just me

Whoa. WHOA. I'm not an easily angered person, but did someone actually condesend as to call Showbread emo? Showbread is Raw. And actually I've seen an interview where Josh Dies was mocking emo bands by swinging his mic around, saying "look, look! im in an emo band!" it was very funny. Think what you want, but these guys are far from emo. Yes Josh wears make up at shows and comes out in shorts with his finger nails painted, your point? It's entertaining and makes the show more layed back. Who cares how a band dresses when the deliver amazing, God inspired messages to desperate teens everywhere? Now, to this song. I've pondered the meaning many times, and I'm still stumped. But alas, it's well written, well performed, and much enjoyed. Sincerely Yours, Age of Reptiles and may Raw Rock kill you forever and ever, amen.

I think this song is about gossip, and how one can get caught up in it to the point where it can ruin them. That's my take.

Showbread put on one of the best live performances that i have ever seen. - in respect to this song, they are addressing the destructive nature of gossip and slander

I completely agree with the comment above. Well said! And the title of the song says it all. "Mouth Like a Magazine" It's about gossip, lies, and all that fun stuff, which eventually will come back to haunt you. Ta-da.

Oh God.. These sassy boys look like sluts with their little nails painted red and black and wearing makeup... I don't know about you guys but I don't support bands like this anymore cause I dont want to be remembered as part of an 'emo' generation.

I agree with ametheamazing; this song is about how destructive gossip, or just speech in general, can be. also, I think the song is saying that such talk can appear elegant and full of truth, but in reality it's nothing but filth.
