SikTh is an experimental heavy metal band from Watford, London.
SikTh formed in March 2001. Their music has been under the scope of many music magazines such as Kerrang and Metal Hammer, and is a favourite of BBC Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs. Their style of music, although obviously being extreme music, is beyond classification, often being labeled ‘weirdcore’ and were self described as 'noisecore'. "Energy has always inspired us," says guitarist Dan Weller, "things that really get you pumping. We play extreme music, sure, but only in the sense that we go to all extremes. If something sounds good, then we'll do it, and that includes beautiful, melodic music, which we all love, too." They have toured with bands such as Machine Head and Pitchshifter. They currently have a large fanbase in Japan. The band has finished recording a new album, entitled Death of a Dead Day, and their plan is for a March 2006 release.
