The instrumentals in this song are truly awesome; the lyrical content isn't something I can really identify a lot with, but I love the song all the same. Depression is, by far, a dangerous thing.

this song is about addiction- "Addict with no heroine" daniel johns has said that it is about his addiction to antidepressants, kinda proves it.

The line, "distorted eyes when everything is clearly dying" just hit me. I'm addicted to speed, but I've always thought that I could quit. When I heard this song, it caused me to look at what's happening around me. I'm losing everything, and I couldn't see that. The line,"Erupt again ignore the pill, and I won't let it show", makes me think of all those times when, after keeping things held in for so long, I just erupted. When that happens, speed seems to call me the most and, and I try to ignore it. But I just keep that inside me as well, and it just begins the cycle all over again. I've gone through the "emotion sickness" so many times, but the lessons were never learnt. I could never see it. And now it's too late.

anti-dpressants aren't addictive. I don't know where you get your info from, saying that they are. I've been on them for too long as is. Do a little research and you'll find that they aren't. The longer your on them, the harder it is too get off though because of withdrawl symptoms. You can become better while on them. But when you try to taper off them, you might suffer from side effects that mimic depressive type symptoms. Anxiety, depression(kind of ironic), feeling like your going crazy, restlessness. There's a whole bunch of them. It's like a false sense of needing the drug. So you go back on them just to rid yourself of these symptoms. Bottom line. If you think your ready to get off anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, benzodiazepines(especially these) or any other psycho-tropic drug, do it slowly, taper the drug slowly. talk to your doctor about it and see what he says. Don't be fooled into thinking your not ready to get off the drug because of these withdrawl symptoms your feeling. ask around. do your own research. talk to other doctors or find a forum with other people who are on these kinds of drugs. Oh yeah, this is a great song. This song doesn't have 1 meaning to me. Each time i put it on i have different feelings, different thoughts. Its just one of those songs. Great variety of instruments used through the song and through the rest of the album. don't get too caught up in the lyrics. just sit back, listen, and let the music take you away

This is easily Silverchair's greatest achivement. Just a flat out amazing song.
