Awesome song, reminds me of hell er, i mean highschool.......I used to jam out to this song all the time....it was good workout music

It's all about being a Freak. No offence to grungers (I am one), but thats what grunge is all about. Kurt Cobain didn't want to be popular and this destroyed him ultimately

there is a bit in this song which i think personally is about the care free attitude towards sex that youing people have today, "i guess its in fashion to need the coldsore cream", i think he is talking about herpes, could be wrong though.

The song is about how people conform to fit with the "in crowd." The first few lines are kind of out of place. On a Silverchair site it said that Daniel saw a show on like Discovery channel or something like that where there was some boy who got rabies in the Andes, and there was a picture of him sitting on a big red ball. Thats what inspired the song, that kid was a "freak."

i agree with burns once teen spirit became popular kurt hated it he only liked the unpopular songs thats y after nevermind... in utero goes back to a more punk sound like bleach so less ppl would like it ....
