silverchair, Pure Massacre w/ Intro.
Tabbed by King Of The Eskimos, kingoftheeskimos@silverchair.org.

Song: Fat Donuts (I Believe), Pure Massacre
Artist: silverchair (uh huh, that’s a small “s”)
Album: Frogstomp
Tabbed By King Of The Eskimos, 6/23/01
*Note* During their tours in 95 through 97, silverchair played an intro for their song
Pure Massacre called I Believe or Fat Donuts. The lyrics and riff arrangement changed
nearly every show, but the main riff always remained pretty much constant. So here it
is; Pure Massacre w/ Intro.

Drop D Tuning

Fat Donuts Intro (play with some variation):
e--3-1--0h1--------3-1--0--3-1—0h1-------0---------
B--3-3------3------3-3--3--3-3-----3-----3---------
G--2----------2----2-------2---------2---2---------
D--0------------0--0-------0-----------0-0---------
A--------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------

e--3-1--0h1--------3-1--0--3-1—0h1-------0---3-----

G--2----------2----2-------2---------2---2---0-----
D--0------------0--0-------0-----------0-0---2-----
A--------------------------------------------3-----
D--------------------------------------------------

For the chorus just crank the distortion and play variations on the intro.

After a couple minutes it kicks into Pure Massacre:
Intro Riff:
e--------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------
G----0-2-2-2--1-1—-00--2-2-2-2/5-5-----------------
D--0---0-0-0--0-0--00--0-0-0-0-0-0-----------------
A--------------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------------

Riff 1:
e--------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------
G----------------5---------------------------------
D--0--3--0--3--0-5--0--3--0--3--5-7----------------
A--0--3--0--3--0-3--0--3--0--3--5-7----------------
D--0--3--0--3--0----0--3--0--3--5-7----------------

Verse: Play Intro Riff with distortion twice, then play Riff 1 over it twice.

Chorus:
e--------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------
G--------------------------------------------------
D--5--5---3--3-3--x-x--5--5---8--8-8---------------
A--5--5---3--3-3--x-x--5--5---8--8-8---------------
D--5--5---3--3-3-------5--5---8--8-8---------------
“Pure massacre, pure massacre”
The fills in the chorus are the Intro Riff.

Bridge:
e--------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------
G--x-x-7--7--3--3--x-x--5--5-----------------------
D--x-x-7--7--3--3--x-x--5--5--5--5-----------------
A--x-x-5--5--1--1-------3--3--5--5-----------------
D-----------------------------5--5-----------------
“There’s people cryin…”

All the parts are here, just arrange them correctly. i hate using napster and other mp3
sites cos i respect musicians and don’t like stealing from them (!), but it’s the only
way to get live shows (usually) and therefore the only way to get rare, unreleased songs
such as Fat Donuts. Downloading concerts for free is ok, I think, cos you can’t buy that
kind of stuff. So uh… yeah, get this song. Send any comments/suggestions and or large
sums of money to kingoftheeskimos@silverchair.org
Thanx for reading my tab, and good luck.

I thought they were 15 when they wrote it... Anyway, I really love this song, but then again, I love all of their songs... Its pretty obvious that the song's about war
