OK, this is my first post in Nevada. Here's my version of Shade, which is
just the chords for the song. The tablature for the solo and the lyrics are
already present in the directory here, so I suggest that you refer to them in
conjunction with this arrangement as I quite frankly can't be bothered
(and don't know how) to cut and paste etc. Anyway here goes.

This is a song many young people should really listen to and really take the advice it gives, but sadly most don't, and they suffer un-necessarily

I agree that maybe at face value it is a song about victims of physical abuse, SILVERCHAIR101. But I think this song is really about those times when something horrible happens to you or you are going through a hard time and you try to be strong and suppress your feelings. You may come accross as strong in public but when you are alone (in the shade) you breakdown. Johns is saying that you shouldn't just let shit well up, instead you should let people know what you are going through. To hide in the shade is self-destructive. A loving song.
