| The first time I heard this song, John Frusciante was covering it at a Red Hot Chili Pepper's show and he sang it so beautifully with such passion I almost started crying. Love it. No matter who sings it or whatever it means, it's one of my favorite songs of all time | |

| I love this song and everything about it...minus the end chickanery or w/e you wanna call it. I like John Frusciante's cover SOOO much better. I had a g/f Emilie (dif spelling) she said she had no idea what the song was about until she heard the "Oh, I love you girl..." at the end...but it was the JF cover. | |

| This song is unbelievable. I've never heard the studio version, just the live one, but I am pretty sure that it is impossible for the studio to compare to the live. It's one of the most passionate songs I have ever heard. There's not much complexity to the song. He's just describing a lovely dream he has about the girl he loves. The lyrics and singing are amazing. | |

| I think this song shows the potential for love...I mean it's written after a girl he hasn't met, yet it holds such passion. Even thought that seems kind of cliche, it has an endearing quality. The fact that when he wakes up he still feels her near makes me think that maybe fairy-tale dreams might have some level reality. | |

| possibly the most beautiful song ever recorded. it is tinged with such sadness that it hurts. i believe paul simon said once that the emily of the song isn't a girl he knew, but rather the girl he's been searching for all his life. hence the "whenever i may find her" in the title. | |

| at the beginning I didnt pay too much attention to this song, though I must say "Emily" is still a beautiful name on a girl -for me- anyhow...on september I met a girl at school named Emily and she is the coolest and prettiest of all. Now, everytime I hear this S&G song, I have to think of her...!! Argh! | |

| I find this song soothing and really actually pretty. I was named Emily after this song and until I was about this age, I really hated this little fact being I thought the song wasnt 'cool'. But now I realize how beautiful it actually is. | |
