Sinch
"Plasma"
From the album "Sinch"
Tabbed by Joe Costello (joseph.costello@villanova.edu)

Comments: In my opinion, this is the best song on the album. A really amazing song. However,

it's taken me quite a while to finally figure this one out. This is because the song
is played with a capo on the 3rd fret. I figured that much out when I saw Sinch play
in January. However, since I don't have a capo, it's been impossible to get the same tuning

that's used in the song. So I improvised on that, and changed the tuning, and this sounds
right
I think. If it's not right let me know. And rate the tab.

I may eventually tab the song with a capo as well. If I ever get one...

I can't figure out who this song is coming from; whether the girl or him in the relationship. Or it could be both. One of them isn't ready for a serious relationship ("And by the way would it be O.K. if we went our separate ways?") And is asking if they can leave even though they don't want to. Whoever posted these lyrics has missed out a bit. Where he sings "And I will be here cos I don't mind waiting". With that line, he saying he will wait for as long as possible for the girl until she is ready for him and a relationship. Just generally a beautiful song *sigh

These are the lyrics to the older version of Plasma. Off of the EP that they independently released in 2000; this version is different from the version on the self-titled album. It's cool to listen to both versions and see how they switched the chorus and the bridge. As far as the meaning; I think it's definitely coming from his point of view. He's asking if they can go their separate ways, and you get the feeling that the relationship just isn't working for either of them anymore. In this version of the song, he seems to be completely done with her ('And I will be there to see it up in flames/Fates rearranged'), and they completely changed this part on the self-titled version to 'And I will be here cause I don't mind waiting', which is more moderate. I also think the line "Sometimes I think that these chains can be broken" is reference to their relationship as a chain holding him down. This is truly an excellent song; it's my favorite Sinch song so far. And I've been there before, if I was any kind of lyricist I bet I'd write something very similar...
