Beautiful Thing - Sister Hazel
------------------------------------------------------------
By: Bnl214@aol.com
The song is pretty easy; the hard part is memorizing the chrd patterns because they are
very long. The solo rocks though, I'll have that tabbed soon.
Chords used:
Bm:x24432 D: xx0232
A:x02220 Em: 022000
G:320033
VERSE:
Bm A
Well I'll follow you wherever
G D
When you lead me by my nose on
G D A
Another big adventure, I suppose.
Bm A
Then you lay me down in clover with their
G D
Petals on my back, I should
G A D
Make some time to do more things like that
PRE-CHORUS:
A
Won't you sing to me your poetry won't you
G D
Take me to your home
A
Won't you be for me forever so I'll
G D
Never be alone
Em
Just one thing
G A
If you're my queen -
CHORUS:
D
It's a beautiful thing
A Em
Yeah (la la la la la la)
G D
It's a beautiful thing
A Em G......
Yeah, yeah
VERSE:
Well, I'm buried in my bedroom under
Fourteen feet of clothes, I could
Drown in all this clutter, I suppose
But then you're standing in my doorway with a
Suitcase on your back, and it
Blows my mind when you do things like that
PRE-CHORUS
CHORUS
SOLO: VERSE PROGRESSION
BRIDGE:
G A
Yeah, reminding me
Bm
Well I might be poor but
G D
Summer's free for me
G D
I didn't know I was sleeping
PRE-CHORUS
CHORUS

| to me, this song is about someone you love and admire. not necessarily a lover though. this reminds me of my best friend. i think the meaning is that this "beautiful" person feels neglected by you. or that you don't appreciate your loved ones til they are gone. the "beautiful thing" to me is their soul. "Then you lay me down in clover, With their petals on my back"..when times are good and the person is all you need | |

| This song can be about a lover or a friend, just depends on how you look at it. But I dont think that whoever it is about has died. I think its more like the guy has not appreciated the value of his lover/friend's spontaneity and sillyness. And when he follows her and allows her to be "his queen," then he can let go off all the stuff thats been cluttering his life (the 14ft of clothes that drown him), and he can allow himself to enjoy life freely with her. Its those big adventures that he loves about her. Such a great song! I have to thank my bestfriend for introducing me to it!!! (thanks pie) | |
