Slaughter is a glam metal / rock and roll band from Las Vegas, Nevada which achieved popularity in the early 1990s.
The band formed in 1988 with Mark Slaughter on vocals, Dana Strum as bassist, Tim Kelly on guitars and Blas Elias on drums. Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum had previously played together in Vinnie Vincent Invasion. The group struggled throughout the 1990s and on February 5, 1998, Kelly was killed in an auto accident. They returned in 1999 with Back to Reality with Jeff Blando as the new guitarist. Jeff Blando was also in Left For Dead and Saigon Kick.
Previous to Slaughter, Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum were in Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Their former Vinnie Vincent Invasion bandmate Bobby Rock has played as a touring drummer for Slaughter, filling in for Blas Elias.
