"by iamthenightstars on 07-01-2006 @ 06:33:43 PM It seems this song is about war. Since just about every war is about religon, people are dying for their Gods. " Hardly any wars are about religion, and those that are, are usually just using religion as a thinly-veiled cover-up or excuse for warring. Seriously, people need to stop thinking religion is the cause for absolutely ALL pain, suffering and war in the world. Anyway, great song. I dont really like most of the new Slayer stuff except War Zone and Bloodline, but the new album is shaping up to be quite good.

"Bahaiism has nothing to do with war, and in fact promotes peace and anti-racism..." I never said Bahisti had anything to do with war. I said that it was a Persain word and that the Persains were involved in the Gulf War. And when did I say anything about coming to a conclusion about war?

I realize obviously thats what the song is about, but Bahaiism has nothing to do with war, and in fact promotes peace and anti-racism...

Just as a sidenote: The last part of the lyrics (from Be optomistic, happy, and calm...) is taken directly out of the terrorists handbook which was found in Mohammed Attas luggage, which didn't make it in the plane in time. It was written by Al-Qaida and contains all sorts of hints for the suicide bombers.

Actually, sorry, this song must be about "The Gulf War"(also called the Persian Gulf War) because jihad is an arabic word and bahisti is a persain word and they both were fighting in the war

"okay, they've come out and said what its about already guys... Its about 9/11 From the Terrorist Point of View... a lot of people are pissed about that, but you gotta love Slayer for giving them a big "Fuck You"..." Ofcourse it is satire, to show how idiots are running around blowing/burning up themselves and others for their god, and there are plenty of ppl on all sides of the war that are doing it in the name of their god. Its like, Good job you just murdered a bunch of people for your god, im sure he is happy with your deeds and he will treat you good in heaven...wtf-ever.

Absolutely brilliant lyrics IMO. As someone has said already, this is about Holy war through the eyes of the islamic terrorists. Their view is that they are doing their god a favour by killing "The Great Satan" - George W. Bush. And "your reward will be eternity". Slayer aren't taking sides here. It is simply a different point of view to the war rather than the stuff we are exposed to through the media. As far as Slayer are concerned, they believe all religions are to blame for this war.

Obviously this song is about Jihad, the holy war that islam is figthing against the west. it can be compared to "Angel of death" because it is just telling what has happened (the nazi's experiments) or what is happening now (bombs and kamikaze all around), without being in favour or against terrorism. In particular this song is related to 9/11 ("let the pillars fall") and the spoken outro is what the kamikaze are taught when they are chosen.

"God will give bahishti to his faithful servants" I just looked up the meaning of the word "bahisti" and it comes from the Persain word "Bahaist" which means: "Of or relating to a religion founded in 1863 in Persia and emphasizing the spiritual unity of all humankind." So maybe, even more specifically, this is about the Persain Wars

Jihad means 'Struggle' NOT holy war morons, and I praise the government for 9/11 and you fools believe it when they say terrorist hijacked planes using box cutters.. I mean c'mon and all the cockpit doors of which were apparently hijacked had locks on them so you can't open them from the outside!

I'm surprised with new Slayer. It sounds quite a bit like the older Slayer... I was expecting it to be a bit more like God Hates Us All. As for the song's meaning... yeah, the dudes said it was 9/11 on the eyes of the terrortists.

i chuckled a little at the first comment. actually Ionic jihad is a holy war hence why he says it. the muslums and jewish have had one since the begining of time. I love this song, from the meaning all the way to the finer notes. I love it and i mean no offence to the dead in WTC but i belive it was needed, i mean so many americans were so devided till then, and after that they all came together but then again.... bush is just a faggot.

Well bro's check this shit I absolutley love the new slayer cd, it kicks major ass. But yo check this you got Mandatory Suicide, which is about war came out during the Gulf, you also have GOd Hates us ALL which if you don't remember released Sept 11th 2001 coincidence, may be maybe not now jihad all songs about war during times of war, maybe slayer is telling us our world is fucked inadvertently. But who knows all I gotta say is slayer kicks ass and if any one puts em down can suck it!!!!!!

Great song. After reading these lyrics for the first time, it seems pretty obvious to me(though i could be wrong) "This is God's war!" "God won't judge what I've done" "I will watch you die again for Him" It seems this song is about war. Since just about every war is about religon, people are dying for their Gods.

Jihad does mean struggle - a holy struggle. In many cases, it's implied as being a holy war. Everything else in the previous post is complete cracked out nonsense. "I mean, c'mon." I love the lyrics. The song pisses me off in a good kind of way. It reminds me of how much I love being an infidel.
