| In an interview with Headbanger's Ball Corey mentioned that a song on this new album was the second part of a pre-existing song that is really dark. i think this is a continuation of Purity. If you don't know the story behind it (which is a false story made up on crimescene.com) Purity is about a girl who was stalked, kidnapped and buried alive in a box underground. The Nameless matches Purity lyrically, and song structurally. "I never wanted anybody more than i wanted you" " You're mine" - the stalker's obsession with her. "Stay inside the hole" "I thought you want to be free" - obvious referencees to her being buried Purity starts heavy then breaks into the "You all stare..." part. This song does the same thing with the "Don't go..." part. This may not be correct but it is definitely another way to look at it. | |

| i agree with dead2self, this is a song about women who stick with guys who beat the shit outta them. the song is about an abusive relationship, from the abusers's pov. the abuser is really controlling ("Your mine (I know who you are)") and ever time she tries to leave him, he gets that puppy-dog look and makes her feel bad about it: "(Don't go) I never wanted any body more then I wanted you" you can just tell by the way corey sings this part. thats mostly wut i think this song is about but then again, it does sound like an extention of Purity. But didnt they get sued for recording Purity? why would they make another song like it? too confusing... | I just relised i didn't accually write about what i thought thsi song is about... I think it is about love, and how he never truly knew what it was, or how it felt. He only knew hate, because that was what he was given. And then when he is saying "you're mine" he is talking about his wife/girlfriend Scarlet, and slipknot/stone sour as a whole, and how they are part of his life, and is feeling loved. | |
