"But I won't let this build up inside me"
..............................................

She seems dressed in all of me, \
Stretched across my shame, \
All the torment and the pain, \
Leaked through and covered me, > Riff 1
I'd do anything to have her to myslelf, /
Just to have her for myself, /
Now I Don't know what to do. /

I don't know what to do, \
When she makes me sad. /Riff 2

She is everything to me, \
The unrequited dream, \
A song that no one sings, \
The unattainable, > Riff 1
She's a myth that I have to believe in, /
All I need to make it real is one more reason, /
I don't know what to do. /

I don't know what to do, \ Riff 2
When she makes me sad. /

But I won't let this build up inside of me >Riff 3 or Riff 3.5

I catch in my throat, \
Choke, \
Torn into pieces, \
I won't, > Riff 3
No, /
I don't want to be this, /

But I won't let this build up inside of me. \ Riff 3
(Won't let this build up inside of me) / or Riff 3.5

(won't let this build up inside of me) \
She isn't real, \
(won't let this build up inside of me) > Riff 1
I can't make her real, /
(won't let this build up inside of me) /
.......................................

The ending part is done on the piano but you can also play it on

The original slipknot lineup played "Rage". Rage is a CCG (collectible card game, like "Magic"), in which players control tribes of Werewolves, or the Wyrm (werewolves transformed by darkness). Pentex, Bone Gnawers, and The Black Hand were three examples of tribes in rage. The characters (werewolves and wyrm) when hurt to a certain point, would shift into "crinos form", in other words, a wolf or man transforming into werewolf form. Lastly, an option that players had was to "step sideways" into the umbra, into safety. Hope this clears things up with that song."

Hehe, one of my fav. Slipknot songs because of the Werewolf references, a shame only 2 of the original band members are left. For any one who doesn't play the game, Pentex is an immense corporation that intends to rape and defile Gaia ( mother earth ) in a bid for global domination. BoneGnawers are a tribe of werewolves ( the warriors of Gaia ) but they live in cities and are mostly bums, the other werewolves usually despise them. The Black Hand is an order of vampires. A klaive is a big silver knife. Crinos is the war form of werewolves, a mesh of man and wolf. Wyrmfoe are minions of the Wyrm, which want to destroy Gaia. To stepsideways is to go into the Umbra, and the Umbra is a spiritual world linked to the material one ( and the subject of the song Gently ). Thats it.

According to Anders on www.mkfr1.com 'Slipknot is about what parts of the dark world I particularly despise' And almost everything on MKFR was about the RPG "White Wolf Werewolf: The Apocolypse"

I think the meaning of the title goes something like this: A slipknot can be found at the end of a rope. A slipknot is also used to hang people with. I think the meaning is that, like in (SIC), that the singer is finally snapping and wreaking judgement on his enemies, f.ex The Black Hand or Pentex.
