| I believe this is about immortality... And much to what may be easy to interpret, I think being immortal lives a cyclical life in nature. That when you are created you would never live out your life as a mortal in the beginning. You were just created to be. Yet, as you progress in your life you seek an understanding. You immerse yourself in your own history and start to dig into the meager beginnings. Sorry that I am vague, but I believe life travels in a spiral, what comes around goes around, literally. History repeats itself until you are satisfied with that aspect of your life, and ready to move on. You know how people say you go in circles over-and-over until you get it right? Well, it's something like that. Except, to get it right is to be satisfied in the self. "Give me the dust of my father Stand on the face of the ancients Bear all the secret flesh of time itself" I believe this opening is very powerful. It kind of shows that this person has lived eternally and has outlived his father so much that he is merely dust. Maybe I took that a bit literally. Tell me what you think... | |
