| This song is about a relationship that ended because of a betrayal. I can completely relate to this because I have wanted to cut out the part of my heart that cared for my best friend of 2 years when she gave me up as a sacrifice for hundreds of new friends | |

| This song has a lot of meaning for me. I was in a "relationship" that was exactly like this song for me. Its about no matter what you do and say you can't get the person you love to open up to let you in. In the end you end up hurt and without them and its so bad it gets to the point that you wish there was some way to cut them out of your life to get rid of whatever part of you that might love them. | |

| Well.. For me this song is very, very special.. A painfull reminder of my past.. I was very much in love with this guy.. And he told me, that he felt the same about me.. And I believed him. - "I let myself fall into a lie" And when things started to go wrong, I just pretented to be ok with it.. That he didn't mean that much to me at all.. But inside I was hurting. - "I let myself smile and feel alive I let my walls come down." And no matter what I did.. I fell deeper into my depression, and everytime I thought of him, I felt like something was dying inside of me.. I've never felt so bad, as I did at that time.. - "You wrapped your hands tight around my heart and squeezed it full of pain." And, well.. I began hurting myself to get rid of the pain inside.. - "With this knife i'll cut out the part of me The part that cares for you. With this knife i'll cut out the heart of me The heart that cares for you." So for me, the chorus is about self-injury.. Because I used to think, that doing this would help me get rid of all the pain, I kept inside.. And once and for all, make this guy dissapear, so he would no longer haunt my mind with bad memories.. And now that I've come trough, and no longer think of him that often, it seems crazy, that I could feel so bad about it.. He wasn't even worth it.. - "I can't believe the way you took me down" ... ... I love this song. It's a great song.. And, yeah.. I really feel it deep inside of me.. Because it holds all these memories.. | |

| I haven't heard any of their other songs but I definately will after my friend forced me to listen to this one :P....It's a really great song and really well written, only thing I have against it is the singer..he's whiney and has lieka lisp or soemthing so he pronounces words weirdly but I don't know what it is :P...but that just adds personality to the song ~Vampy | |

| “i let myself fall into a lie i let my walls come down i let myself smile and feel alive i let my walls come down” It’s like he really trusted this person, and he opened up and gave everything to her, but... “no matter how i try i don't know why you push so far away you wrapped your hands tight around my heart and squeezed it full of pain” she basically acted as if she didn’t care, and threw all of his feelings away, and she only caused him pain. “with this knife i'll cut out the part of me the part that cares for you with this knife i'll cut out the heart of me the heart that cares for you” The chorus of the song could either be about self-injury, or it could be symbolism. The knife could be the thing he hurts himself with to stop caring about her, or the knife and ‘cutting out the part of him that cares about her’ could just symbolize trying to get rid of his feelings for her. But for me, it’s about self-injury. I could relate to this song a lot about a year ago when me and my then boyfriend were having problems. When we first started going out he was so sweet and caring, and I had never really trusted a boy before, but I trusted him, and I gave my whole heart to him. Then he just crushed it, and I used self-injury to deal with it, which seems like what this song is talking about. | |

| I love this song. (like most smile empty soul songs) The song to me is about him wanting to cut out the part of him that loves her because she jsut hurts him all the time. He let his defenses downa nd trusted her not to hurt him but she still did and now he wants her gone. I think he stillr eally cares about her and he doesnt want to ahve to cut her out but he cant handle the hurt. He never thought she could do this and he just wants to forget aobut her and stop caring aobut her. I can sort of relate to this one but not as much as the others. My boyfriend has hurt me emotionally and i never thought he would. I never really wanted a boyfriend for the longst time and i ahd built up defences or "walls" so high but i finally let them down because i trusted him with my heart. I still lvoe him and i ahvent been able to "cut out the part of me that cares for him" but if i get hurt again i fear i may have to. | |

| I know this song can get really personal and perfectly fit a certain bad relationship, but for me it's about life in general. No matter how good your life is, everyone falls for lies. Everyone who's guarded their thoughts and emotions has broken that once, and as result been hurt worse. And everyone knows what it is to feel pain. Without the knowledge of pain, you aren't human. But the chorus and the bit at the end are what really strike me hard. It can be interpreted as suicide, I suppose, but I tend to think more along the lines of "self-mutilation" like Sickerth does. Which is something I can relate to... | |

| wow, this song reminds me of my relationship with my dad. My parents have been divorced for about 20 years (dad in turn married his mistress whose prime goal in life is making my sisters', mom's and my life a living hell, and he's being taken on the ride). "i let myself fall into a lie i let my walls come down i let myself smile and feel alive i let my walls come down " pretty much describes how I let my guard down in the attempts I made to re-establish a connection with him. "no matter how i try i don't know why you push so far away you wrapped your hands tight around my heart and squeezed it full of pain" is how even without trying, he has and can inflict soo much emotional damage to me and my sisters "with this knife i'll cut out the part of me the part that cares for you with this knife i'll cut out the heart of me the heart that cares for you" really describes where I am now, I'm just at the point of being like 'hey, if you want a relationship with me, you have to initiate it, because I'm done taking the leap of faith that you'll catch me and ending up falling harder and harder on my face' "i can't believe the way you took me down i never saw the pain coming in a million broken miles like poison in my veins" is definately how i never expected my own father to hurt me as much as he has "the hate and the fear the nightmares that wake me up in the tears the nightmares and (the hate)..." and i really do have nightmares...mainly about my step-mother poisoning my father, but about him shutting me out completely. sorry, i know everyone nowadays has issues with their parents, but this song really expresses how I feel about my relationship with my dad and I thought i'd share. | |
