some notes before you go on:
This tab is a two guitar song tab'd out for one guitar.
It's also tabbed out in mind that not everyone (myself included)
and lay just like Mr. Marr.) For example, I _do_ know that there
are three more strings on the guitar :), but I can play through this
version and it sounds good. If you can crank through it, it wont
be too hard for you to round out the chords a little. Corrections,

| Morrissey has long expressed that hes is/was a very shy individual, and in very basic terms how shyness can impede someone going after someone due to their shyness. Instead these people go after people who may not besuited for them "Spending warm, Summer days indoors/Writing frightening verse to a buck-toothed girl in Luxemburg" ...but i think it also has deeper meaning in how we all relate to each other in general, and how we all have SOME sort of shyness at some level "if its not love/then its the bomb that will bring us together" | |

| This is about being in a romantic relationship with someone and you think they want to do you up the butt but they are too shy to ask but you want to let them but you don't want to be like begging for it so you are like "just ask and I will let you." It is a secret that I like this song. | |

| I always thought it was "bond" and not "bomb." I mean, doesn't it make more sense for people to be brought together by a common bond, maybe shyness? I dunno. Then again, I used to think "son and the heir" was "Sun and the air." | |

| Nice analysis, Alexbhlz. I agree 100% re: the bomb. As for the lyric "shyness is nice", it's both comforting AND a call to get off your ass to do something. See, shy people, like many of us, are usually nice sweet people, but that same shy sweetness means they will miss out on many of the JOYS of life because they are too busy being INDOORS and avoiding too much social contact. We should all strive to be both social AND still nice. An ideal world, really. | |

| i've always thought that the line "the bomb will bring us together" is about how people will come together in order to do violence, ie war. a country working hard together to create the bomb, which i believe is supposed to be "The Bomb", the atomic bomb, because it symbolizes humankind's drive to war in general. this is damaging of course because people coming together to hurt other people is not unifying overall and thus shows the general fault of war. | |

| Morrissey is trying to say that if love won't bring them together, then "the bomb"/war/destruction is the only thing powerful enough to do it. It's a clever take on how humans bond. We're at our best when we're at extremes. | |

| It's about breaking down sexual barriers. "nature is a language can't yuo raed" is a reference to poeples misinterpretations of sex and love. Morrissey is trying to say that love and sex has no gender only emotions and feelings --> nature. He is saying raed what ur body your nature is telling you. The bomb is symbolic for destroying those barriers. | |

| Morrissey rather sarcastically professes "Shyness is nice" before bitinglly contradicting his statement with the fact that it stops you from doing "ALL the things in life that you want to". If anything it's a song about seizing the moment, "cape diem" and whatnot. The somewhat confusing bit about "the bomb" could have any number of meanings. Morrissey imagining World War 2 lovers locked up in bomb shelters with nothing to do but huddle together and provide an opportunity for love to grow is just one possibility. Perhaps he just refers to the unity and love brought about through terror (quite appropriate in a post 9/11 era). Or it could just be that he's saying that something drastic (that likely will never come - after all how often do bombs really drop from the sky?) is going to have to happen for things to change. Multi-levelled I'd say. | |

| About "then it's the bomb," my interpretation was that if they don't have love, the only thing bringing them together is violence, and that would be a horrible thing. | |
