| This song is atmospheric. "Oh mother... I can feel the soil falling over my head"- The tears start falling from thi spoint onwards. That opening line just explains the mood of the whole song. basically saying "I can feel myself being burried alive" | |

James Wanna Be |

| That's how it goses to me: The protagonist is regreting because his woman left him: the soil is falling over his head and he climbs to an empty bed, no one waits for him. His ex lover is now marrying. She's sad veiled bride, who doesn't exactly love his groom, since she needs him more than she loves him. But, although she left him, the protagonist wants her to be happy and wants her husband to treat her well. Now he creates a hypothetical character who reminds him: why are you on your own tonight if youre clever, good looking etc. Now, they're in each other's arms: the one he loves and her husband. The next paragraph talks about the difficulty he has to remain gentle and kind with her and her husband because he's furious, so is much easier to laugh and hate. Finally, it kindda confirms my interpretation, saying that her love is not natural and real, because she should love him, but is married with another man. I hope you guys like my interpretion to this wonderful lyrics. | |

| This is where Morrissey's at his best - when he's speaking about loneliness and the desire to love and be loved. People talk about his wit, but, like he says: "It's easy to laugh/ It's easy to hate/ It takes guts to be gentle and kind". So true - it's a shame so many people choose to do the former two. | |

| This song is about a man who has lived a life of hollow relationships. He's with someone for awhile and then they're gone and he's alone again. Love doesn't exist. I draw a parallel to a song off of Morrissey's new album. The lyric "[Jesus] why do you give me so much love, when there's no one i can turn to to unlock all this love?" | |

| Man, this song can get me through a lot too. It lets out all the emotion. Makes me cry EVERY time. I too think the 'If your so funny/clever/entertaining/good looking, then why are you on your own tonight' part is the most true statement ever. And the poignant bit is when the second guitar comes in I feel. | |
