I really love this song and noticed how there were no tabs
for it online so here ya go.
Tis me first tab and is all my own work,so go easy on me!
Please note that there's a capo on the first fret.
So --6-- means 6th fret from the CAPO.
Standard Tuning.

p - pull off
b - bend string up
r - release bend

This kinda varies throughout the verses, but its basically the same.

| To me, this song reminds me entirely of my boyfriend who's in Iraq. To me, it’s a soldier standing over someone he’s about to shoot, contemplating the whole of his job. He could kill this guy, and the guy on the floor could be unconscious. He never understood how he got there, and he knows he’s probably going to get killed here. My boyfriend says everything goes slow motion and also that he can feel that he’s living on borrowed time, and this is pretty much said in the song. He has something to live for, but other soldiers don’t (as the ‘not afraid to die’ part says…). Then there’s a blast and he’s rushed into the medics base, hence the slam shut. He’s safe this time, because his clock is still ticking. I’m not sure, I just like to think of it like that. | |

| I never thought about blood dripping from fingertips, i took it literally. But think about this, it could be from God's perspective and some lines from Gary's perspective. "I could do most anything to you", is almost like God stating he could end your life then and there. The lines Gary sings 1, 4, 6, 10 on the lyrics are from his perspective. He's stating how life is so fast, and that time is so fast that if you blink you could miss a death, a marriage, or birth. "You Can't Leave, You Can't Leave," brought me back to Modest Mouse's "Exit does not exist," relating to how you can only leave when you die (unless you commit suicide) and how even when you die you are stuck in heaven/hell/purgatory/promiseland/canaan or wtf ever you believe in. "Doors Slam Shut" might be talking about how once you make a decision in life there is no turning back or maybe he is talking about when he is dead and the gates of heaven/hell slam behind him. "Every Second Dripping of My Fingertips," talking about that no matter what you are doing you are wasting time. You should read lyrics for Modest Mouse's "Think Long" it states that: If you waste life you are wasting life and you are gonna die, But if you think, and do your best, your still gonna die anyways. Kinda makes you think, eh? Creepy how that no matter what you do your still gonna fucking die. | |

| It's about someone in a doomed relationship. They don't know when it went bad "there's something that I missed." Why does the other person fight with them? The singer could easily get their revenge "I could do most anything to you." But instead they want to try to work things out, telling the other "You can't leave," please let's stay and talk this out. But it doesn't work. When the couple has a fight "in slow motion, the blast is beautiful," kind of like he's mesmermized by the fight and he can't believe it's happening. "Doors slam shut:" this happens in a fight. As for the clock ticking, he knows the relationship can't last forever when they fight so horribly, and he can feel their time together running out. | |

| the inevitability of death.. "a clock is ticking but it's hidden far away/safe and sound" and when that clock is done ticking, your life will be over.. as far as "every second, dripping off my fingertips," I think he's in character.. writing the song as if he were the clock, and it's just another way of saying that the seconds are ticking away, there's nothing you can do to reverse it, they're just 'dripping' away.. irreversiblity of time.. | |

| I like the "death" theory. at a stretch, all of the pairs of lines can be interpreted as a death of some sort, and the musical style seems to match it. the loud bits seem to exemplify the unexpectedness of death. I like it. | |
