| This new album is such an amazing accomplishment I don't even know where to start commenting. I've chosen this song because it seems like one of the two tracks that set up the metaphor which underlies the album's crux: I'm not entirely sure, but at first listen "Shut Your Eyes" appears to mean "selective blindness", or not acknowledging the things that are ugly about this world (or perhaps the person you are dating). It stands in direct opposition to "Open Your Eyes", which is acknowledgement of existing flaws, and rising to challenge them together. So the progression from "Shut" to "Open" marks the journey of two people together moving from a superficial relationship to one of deeper commitment. It includes highs and lows, love and hate, bitter coldness, raging fires, minds racing, dark places... ...I'm such a sucker for theme albums. | |

| Hi, just a little question- (I'm not so good in English) isn't he singing "you're own secret space at will" instead of "you're our secret space as well" ? because it would make better sense for me... anyway, I think this song is about relationship between boy and girl, I don't agree with sex version. He sings about how to learn to live together and solve problems easily, by imagining quiet and peaceful personal world to stay cool | |

| "And when the worrying starts to hurt and the world feels like graves of dirt Just close your eyes until you can imagine this place, you're our secret space as well" that's what everybody should do when they are troubled.. always pay a lot of attention to the good times, because they will strike you once again.. | |
