	Read this: When asked about the "Jesus Christ Pose" itself, Chris says: "You just see it a lot with really beautiful people, or famous people, exploiting that symbol as to imply that they're either a deity or persecuted somehow by their public. So it's pretty much a song that is nonreligious but expressing being irritated by seeing that. It's not that I would ever be offended by what someone would do with that symbol."

I could just give you a lecture on how every religion is wrong, but I won't, because I respect other people's beliefs unlike yourself. Grow the fuck up.

	And as for this song... I never really put too much emphasis on the meaning of the lyrics; To me, JCP was all about either Chris' own personal inner struggles and rejections of Christianity and God. If this is the case, I don't really think that Chris is performing this song in a mocking manner, but he is inwardly confused and turmoiled by the concept of religion and all it's explanations of things, which he does not fully understand and may or may not be in agreement with. Another explanation of these lyrics would have to be all of the rockers and everybody mentioned above, who are all acting like they are so helpless amidst and ocean of violently adoring fans who won't leave them alone.... Oh those poor Hollywood celebrities; How they are all so much more worse off than any homeless person... It's such a sad and tragic story. Really. Yeah, right.

	true... i think that, in the most general way, it's about people (specially famous) that take a pose of victimism, of being unfairly persecuted (like christ) to justify themselves when they're criticized

	Grunge Rocker, Settle down, he's only stating his opinion. Just because someone else doesen't believe Jesus Christ was the Son of God doesen't mean you have to insult him like that. Anyway, back to the song. I was always thought it was about people and their "Holier Than Thou" attitude. Thinking they're better than everyone else, thus Jesus Christ Pose. He then compares this person to Jesus, "And would it pay you more to walk on water Than to wear a crown of thorns" I won't put too much emphasis into Religion, I don't really think this has to do with Christians anyway. Just people who think they're better than everyone else in general. Just my two cents....
