Thats it.
Lyrics:
Heard it from another room
Eyes were waking up just to fall asleep
Love's like suicide
Dazed out in a garden bed
With a broken neck lays my broken gift
Just like suicide
And my last ditch
Was my last brick
Lent to finish her
Finish her
Bit down on the bullet now
I had a taste so sour
I had to think of something sweet
Love's like suicide
Safe outside my gilded cage
With an ounce of pain
I wield a ton of rage
Just like suicide
With eyes of blood
And bitter blue
How I feel for you
I feel for you
She lived like a murder
How she'd fly so sweetly
She lived like a murder
But she dies
Just like suicide

| Youre damn right he's an underrated lyricist.... just listen. he is damn good at what he did And for those of you who think you know the meaning of the songs he writes, think again; he is rarely literal and the only sure way to know the meaning of his songs are to talk to him. 4th of July was explained by him in an interview for RIP (and everyone who thinks its about the end of the world.... youre dead wrong: its about and acid trip) | |

| Yeah i agree with edbutler3, the killing of the bird was an inspiration to write the song, not exactly what the song is about. I think I like the bluntness of this song. I know Cornell is usually deep and uses metaphors and such, but I think if this song its taken as it is written, its really hits you. Anyways thtas my thoughts - great song | |

| Such a damn amazing song. The tribal drumming and all... it gets to me. Very sweet for a Soundgarden song, even if still inexplicably sad. Love is like suicide. | |

| what a fucken metaphor. Chris is so amazing. extremely underrated as a lyricist. If u take this song literally or metaphorically it hits u both ways like a ton of bricks. And what a way to end an album. Its like the whole album encompassed in one in a big orgasm. The drumming, the melody, the intricacies, the buildup, and the guitar solo. And of course most importantly the lyrics make this soundgarden's best song. | |

| If you want a really cool death trip, listen to the whole Superunkown album on your computer, from beginning to end. Make sure all the lights off are in the room, including the computer monitor. Make sure it's night, or else it won't work. When it gets to Like Suicide, put your face directly in front of the monitor with your eyes closed. Turn on the monitor and Chris's lyrics and music will make it seem like you're dying and going toward the light. I sware it was so cool when I first did it. Try it when you're bored at night. | |

| The part about the bird flying into his door is true. It's written in the "making of superunknown" book. A robin flew into Chris's door and broke its neck, so to put it out of its misery, he killed it with a concrete block. He says he was then inspired to go in and write a song about the harshness of love. Either way, after reading Carlos' comment, my face is pressed firmly yo my pc screen. | |
