This cool gem is off of the fine -Ultramega OK- album (which is their first
full length album). The best way to do this is to break the song up into
riffs, which is what I have done. I play this song in drop D tuning
because I find it easier to do it that way.
Riff 1:
E -----------------------------
B -----------------------------
G -----------------------------
D -----------------------------
A -----------------------------
D -7--4-7--4-7-4-7--4-7--4-7-4-
Riff 2:
This is Riff 1 played palm muted
Riff 3:
E -------------------------------------------------------------------
B -------------------------------------------------------------------
G -------------------------------------------------------------------
D -9--7-9--7-9-7-9--7-9--7-9-7-9--7-9--7-9-7-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-
A -9--7-9--7-9-7-9--7-9--7-9-7-9--7-9--7-9-7-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-
D -9--7-7--7-9-7-9--7-9--7-9-7-9--7-9--7-9-7-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-
Riff 4:
E ---------------------
B -----5-------6b--5b--
G --------7-5----------
D -5h7-----------------
A ---------------------
D ---------------------
on the string and p# means pull off
Occasional Riff:
E -------------
B -------------
G -4h5p4-5b-4b-
D -------------
A -------------
D -------------
The Occasional Riff is played near the end of Riff 1 and Riff 2 by another
guitar.
The song structure is as follows:
Bass plays Riff 1 (2x)
Riff 1 (4x), Riff 2 (4x), Riff 3, Riff 2 (4x), Riff 3, Riff 1 (2x),
Riff 2 (4x), Riff 3, Riff 2 (4x), Riff 3, Riff 1 (2x), Riff 4 (8x),
Riff 1 (4x), Riff 2 (4x), Riff 3, Riff 2 (4x), Riff 3, Riff 1 (2x),
Riff 4 (8x), STOP FOR THREE SECONDS
Bass plays Riff 1 (4x)
Riff 1 (4x), END
The lyrics are:
I don't care if it takes some time
Gonna make it right
I'm gonna make it right
Turn the head to 360 degrees
Bite the hand that feeds
I don't care if it tastes like poison
Rip the legs from the thighs
Feed the prison, open the eyes
I don't care if it tastes like poison
I'm gonna feed the prison
Feed the prison
Colour in with lakes of red
Pile of bones for my bed
I'm gonna take some time
I'm gonna take some time
Feed the prison
Not a tear will be shed
The only color is red
I don't care if it takes some time
I'm gonna make it right
I'm gonna make it right
Turn the head 360 degrees
Bite the hand that feeds
I don't care if it tastes like poison
Rip the legs from the thighs
Feed the prison
Open the eyes
Not a tear will be shed
The only colour is red
I don't care if it tastes like poison
I'm gonna feed the prison
I'm gonna feed the prison...

| This song, it seems, is obviously about the Holocaust, and most likely life in the Concentration Camps. 'Not a tear will be shed The only color is red' I recently learned about Auschwitz in school, and in that camp, crying was considered 'weak', and basically, if you cried, you died. 'Pile of bones for my bed' The 'narrarator' of this song has to sleep on a crudely made bed, and is probably practically skin and bones.. I dunno why no one commented this yet, cept me... -shrug- It's just a theory...besides, look at the title! 'Nazi Driver' ...but I'm prolly stating the obvious... | |

| hey, where are the comments on this one?? cmon people! anyways, i agree with you that this is about the holocaust, but i think it's from the perspective of a nazi, not a prisoner. "I don't care if it takes some time I'm gonna make it right" to a nazi, making it right involves killing all jews. that may take time... "I don't care if it tastes like poison Rip the legs from the thighs Feed the prison, save the eyes" the nazi knows that his actions are wrong, but he must ignore this by thinking of the prison and its prisoners as an object, ignoring the actual living beings (the eyes). | |
