I think it's a young love song... (I'll keep it short and go right to the end) ...and there for, I think the boy throwing the plastic case into the machine symbolizes a sense of destony... something like 'If you're my one, then we will be together one day, and I will wait.'

sorry guys, but you're all wrong haha. The video starts off with a storybook about two teens, possibly best friends, running around the woods when they encounter a case (similar to the case that's inside a Kinder Surprise) that opens by itself which revealed a toy chicken. The two teens chased after the chicken until they see another case open by itself containing fairies. While the boy continues to chase after the chicken, the girl stays and the fairies play with her, give her a kiss on the nose, a secret...etc. They fly the girl to another place in front of a medium sized rubik's cube. The fairies are dancing on the rubik's cube until the middle on the top opens. They force the girl to go inside. Meanwhile, the boy sees the fairies about to close the cube. By the time he gets to the cube, his friend is gone, the fairies disappear, and the cube becomes toy-sized. He then walks in the woods by himself with the rubik's cube until he sees a giant coin vending machine which contains other cases. A blue light shines in front of him and he puts the rubik's cube inside of a case and throws it in the coin vending machine and walks away. It ends with the fairies flying in the sky, following the boy. Although the girl is missing from his life, the boy will keep the memories of him "forever". This video can be interpreted as a boy coming to terms with the loss of his friend. His mate is no longer part of his life, whether it is the result of death, disease, or just separation. The boy struggles with his emotions, which is symbolized through him struggling to solve the rubik's cube. By the end of the video, the boy places the rubik's cube in a case and throws it into a giant coin vending machine, indicating that the boy will keep the memories of him in his mind as he moves on with his life. Although not intended , the irony of the title of the song and the music video (in which the cube with the Geri Fairy lifts up away from the others out of shoot )shows the the Departure of Halliwell and Destiny of the group afterwards. www.wikipedia.org.

This is the best Spice Girls track without a doubt! There`s something mysterious about it, its like a dreamy song. It makes me think about childhood and the dreams you still have inside :-)

Tomer, are you sure you're not mistaken? The video I saw was the opposite, the little boy was searching for his sister. The rest of what you said seems true. I knew the song (or video, at least) had to do with losing someone but good job on your part for making some sense of the video. I love this song!

The story line of this song and video as i initially understood it is about a person looking back at his/her past, when they were both young and in love, and everything was perfect. But as time went by things changed, and they grow apart. So eventually all thats left is the memories. The big gumball machine (or whatever it is) at the end symbolizes a memory bank, and the egg things are memories. When this song first came out, i was around the same age as the kids in the video, and i had a similar story as them, and as time past the same thing happened to me. Now all thats left is the great memories.

In the video, the girl/guy (I couldn't really tell the gender of the person) loses their love..not their brother/sister. And the person being lost in the rubix cube doesn't necessarily mean they were kidnapped..they could have died when they were still young or something as simple as them "breaking up". But without a doubt.. this is - as you all agree - theee best Spice Girls song ever made!
