Stabbing Westward
"Waking Up Beside You"
From the album Darkest Days
Tab by Joe Costello (joseph.costello@villanova.edu)

In my opinion, the best song that Stabbing Westward made. The other tabs aren't completely
wrong,
but they're far enough off that this needed to be done. So on with the tab...

Drop D Tuning: low to high (D A D G B e)

Symbols used:
=============
* = let note or chord ring

*The song starts with keyboards for the duration of the 1st verse and chorus. Guitar
enters at 1:50.

god i love stabbing westward.. they are my #1 fave band.. im like obsessed w/ them.. this is one of my fave songs.. its like you had the love of your life one minute.. and the next they are gone.. you miss the person so much.. every little thing about them you miss.. you miss not waking up w/ someone beside you.. waking up beside the person you love is a truly powerful thing.. theres just something about waking up to the person and holding them in you arms and looking up in there eyes.. knowing that you started off the day w/ the person you love.. its such a great feeling.. (although i wouldnt know that.. but i can imagine.. lol)

not only do i agree with the above mentioned statement of promises and breaking them but i also think it refers to how sleeping next to someone and being able to wake up next to them is such a powerful thing and it can really effect how much it hurts when that person leaves u

this song is about a relashionship, she promised him that she would never leave, but one morning, he woke up to find her gone. he knew it would happen but that doesn't change how much he misses her.

I came here to make some elaborate comment, and I was going to, until I read onis's post. wow. I couldn't have put it any better myself. this is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite groups ever. nothing captures this feeling as well as stabbing westward does.
