The only real difference in chords from the album/music video version is the bridge and
then, it's just a little longer.
The F#m is what Sara (2nd guitar on this song) plays during the verse, so I usually play
instead of the F#.
It's all power chords; I don't know why Tegan plays with a capo, so I put both sets of
for you new people out there. The chords really are the same, it's just that relative to
capo, they're different.
CAPO 1 (NO CAPO)
F# F#m D A E

e|-X---X---X---X---X e|-X---X---X---X---X--|
B|-X---10--X---X---X B|-X---11--X---X---X--|

E|-X---X---x---5---X E|-X---X---x---6---X--|
F# (G)
My windows look into your living room
D (D#)
Where I spend the afternoon on top of you
F# (G)
I wonder what it is that I did to make you move
D (D#)
in across away from me
F# (G)
I hope I never figure out who broke your heart
D (D#)
And if I do, if I do
A (A#)
I'd spend all night losing sleep
D (D#)
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
F# (G)
Well I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
F# (G)
My windows look into your bathroom
D (D#)
Where I spend the evening watching you get yourself clean and
F# (G)
I wonder why it is that they left this bathroom so
D (D#)
unclean so unlike me
F# (G)
I hope I never figure out who broke your heart
D (D#)
And if I do, if I do
A (A#)
I'd spend all night losing sleep
D (D#)
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
A (A#)
I'd spend all night losing sleep
D (D#)
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
If I spend the night then I lose my mind
E (E#) D (D#) E (E#) D (D#)
E (E#)
Well I hope I never figure out who broke your heart
D (D#)
And if I do

Well I hope I never figure out who broke your heart

And baby if I do
F# (G)
Well I'd spend all night losing sleep

I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
If I spend the night then I lose my mind

| This is probablly one of my favorite songs. It has so much hidden meaning, its amazing. Something that I think is interesting about Tegan and Sara is...tegan and sara live in two different cities...so they dont fight and break the bad up. | |

| I think it's about a girl whos dating a guy and i think she knows he cheated on her and the person he cheated on her with broke his heart. And she would lose her mind to figure out why this person could make him love her like he never loved her thats why he's hurting so much. | |

| i think that it's about a girl who is going out with a guy whose heart is really already taken, and broken; "I wonder what it is that I did to make you move, in across away from me." so she's wondering who broke his heart. who he is preoccupied with thinking about. although she really dosen't want to know, because she would loose sleep because it might hurt too much to know. "Well I'd spend all night, losing sleep , I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind" I may be wrong, this was just my first inital reaction to the song. oh, and these lyrics are wrong, but that's not suprising for this site. :] | |

| It seems, almost stalker-ish, but i love it. She has a secret crush on a person who she is neighbors with it seems, and maybe she saw that this person is hurt, and wants to repair him from his heartache by being the possible replacement because she likes him? She's probably afraid of being emotional attatched to this person, when all he really wants is ass.? idk thats my interpretation though. | |

| interesting ideas with the exhibitionist neighbors...haha it's a good story. On first listen I felt that this song was about Narrator (N) and Other Random Person Of Interest (O), who happened to move in across the way... anyway well N is attracted to O who is recovering from heartbreak, and N just wants to heal this person but knows she'll just end up sleeping with the person, which she doesn't truly want for some reason.... possibly fear of just being a rebound partner. Just a theory. | |

| yeah i think he cheated on her and it really talks about the pain on both sides when that happens. i think she wonders what made him be with her in the first place when he just cheated. And she doesn't want to know who she wants to forget about it but it hurts he doesnt love her as much. | |

| Its on the new cd... but you wrote that so long ago, maybe you've found the answer. I was listening to some boots of Tee and Esses concerts and heard Tegan talking about her new apartment and how she could see the "recluse" as she called her. I'm pretty sure that's the same person they're talking about in this song, but I could be wrong. | |

| Awesome song... chorus mostly. Not big on the old country sound at roughly the 1:45 minute line. I'm thinking she was watching someone from her apartment? Haha.... perhaps she seen that he was hurt, and didnt want to find out who broke his heart.... or she'd 'lose her mind' | |
