| OMG, WHy hasnt anyone commented on this song???? I love this song! I went to see audioslave last June In Cardiff, Wales, And Chris Cornell did a solo acoustic version of this song, and it was amazing! But no-one in the crowd had really heard of it, I dont think, and It was really quiet, Which sucked, cause Chris did it beautifully | |

| this is just one of the most beautiful songs. its a shame to hear that it got no response at those audioslave concerts. Temple Of The Dog will sadly never get the recognition it deserves. | |

| I think that the speaker in this has a lover who treats him like a lowlife; which is fair enough, because he considers himself a lowlife to a certain extent. However, he is saying that it is his turn for action. He, unlike her, is going to either commit fully and completely to the relationship or forget about it entirely. (I'll call you beautiful or leave it alone) | |

| I think it's about a couple when one person treats the other as low and complain about him all the time, but the other one doesn't care since he love her so much. | |

| Oh yeah, and I think this song is about someone who loves someone who isnt returning their love, so they "call me a dog", but this person doesnt mind, because they know they arent perfect, but they arent going to give up on trying to get the other person return their unrequited love | |

| If anyone's read George RR Martin's "Song of Ice & Fire" series, this song makes me think of Sandor Clegane, a bit. | |

| you've copied the lyrics straight out of the little cover book, most are right but Chris changes them a little bit for the actual recording, i think the book is a copy of the original lyrics he wrote down. amazing guitar solo | |
