i agree so much with those 2 most recent comments. i ve donw exactly the same, i loved the song came to check out the lyrics and soley joined to comment this song. i know that this has already been said but you know. i mean i liked the interpretation but it was like u were looking so far into everything that u completely missed the point. maybe you should stop thinking about love so much? personally i love this song cos its inspriring it makes u not want to sit in the shadows and watch the world go by, it makes you wanna get out there. although ive never been one for sitting in the shadows, it gets down to the issues with global warming and world leaders and what they inforce and try and make us belive. anyhu, my comment was absolutely pointlesss :)

pkpk you are absolutely correct. She played at Live Earth and it was said Al Gore chose her to play this song solely on its meaning about global warming.

This song, when released by her new major record label, will hit it bigger beyond youtube.com I bet. The melody and her voice is wonderful, that's what makes this song what it is.

So I joined the site just in order to say what this song means. It's not about forbidden love. This song is about global warming, completely about global warming. Re-read the lyrics yourself with that in mind and you will see it. hope that helps. im 99.9% positive that Terra wrote this with global warming in mind. thanks, pk

i think this song is about forbidden love... wanting to keep it and trying to hold on and begging not to let go but in the end there are too many things weighing the love down and it is lost. I see the lights are turning and I look outside The stars are burning through this changing time {i think these two lines refer to seeing somebody in a new and different light/way than she has before, and as time goes on stars-or little things she loves about this person-are burning bright and drawing attention to them} It could have been anything we want It's fine, salvation was just a passing thought {they could've been together and been what they wanted but being saved-salvation- by eachother was just a passing moment and the thought was quickly looked past because they are 'star-crossed' lovers} It's only a chance to pave the path we're on {i think this is sarcastic..like oh dont worry its ONLY a chance to choose where our lives go from here} And though they say it's possible To me, I don't see how it's probable {they say love conquers all but in this situation with all taht's working against them it just isn't a probability} I see the course we're on spinning farther from what I know {she knows everything as being one way and solid and this course, this love is leading them, spinning them off course from what they both know from whats safe...} I'll hold on Tell me that you won't let go {she'll hold on tight for the ride and try to keep going but she wants confirmation she's not alone..} And the truth is such a funny thing With all these people Keep on telling me They know what's best And what to be frightened of {everyone is telling her the problems in the relationship-things to be frightened of...they think know what's best for her even though they aren't in the middle of it and it's based solely on stereotypical situations} And all the rest are wrong They know nothing about us {they may think they know whats best but they are wrong because they don't feel the connection and they arent in the middle of it they know nothing but what they see on the outside} This could be something beautiful Combine our love into something wonderful {there is potential for something amazing} But times are tough I know {it is rough dealing with conflicting interests of the mind and the heart..times are tough when your mind tells you somethings wrong but your heart says its right} And the pull of what we can't give up takes hold {the pull of safety and security keeps them from really experiencing this love and it takes a hold of them and holds them down...} anyway that's my interpretation! input?

This song, though most likely meant to be aimed at love, I see it a different way. I'm in high school, and I can totally see myself singing this to a friend, telling her that [we] are going through a tough time, and though we are, we can make it through. I think that's what drew me to the song most. I hear people telling me [adults] how things I do differently can make everything better. But, through all this crap I'm going through, what I honestly want is for someone to "Say It's Possible". I love this song SO much and can't wait for it's release. Thank you, Terra. Thank you.
