| "the morning alarm rings I'm asleep but she's talking to me she's walking 'round wearing all of my clothes but we decided long ago we'd build a time machine and go how bout another first kiss kiss kiss yeah I want another first kiss [later] the clock bends she's waiting I could tell you we belong together I could tell you you belong with me..." that's the original version of the song... I recall it being off of severe tire damage and being live... the increased tempo and general upbeat feel to the song, along with its delicious nerdiness make it appeal to me a lot more than the version that appeared on mink car. | |

| I don't think it's a sad love song. It's sort of a content, happy song. They're a couple that's been together so long that they can communicate even without talking. Plus, it has lines in it about how "other people were too sentimental. Always worrying about their hair." In other words, no one else can make them feel as happy as each other. And "another first kiss" means that every kiss is like the first one. *shrugs* I think it's cute, at least | |

| It is not just about rekindling the romance, but he wants their relationship to be just like before. Like in Servere Tire Damage he wanted to make a time machine, but it also works for this version. | |

| i doubt i can put it better than david grimmer but essentially its about a couple who's love has grown somewhat stale and they want to start over with another first kiss! | |

| It makes me happy because it makes it seem like even when you run out of things to say, give it enough time and there can be a new beginning. I found it comforting, because I just broke up (or "am taking a break" if that even means anything) with the person that I had my first kiss for that reason, that the romance just wasn't interesting anymore. But we're still friends, and I'm hoping that eventually we'll be able to have another first kiss. | |

| A rare example of a TMBG love song. Another First Kiss is about a relationship that has lost the romantic edge of new love, but is still content in a sad sort of way. The couple in the song has become intimate enough for her to wear his shirts and stuff, but has mostly stopped talking. Notice in the first verse she "grabs MY coat to walk away"... She's obviously not leaving him, just going out wearing his coat. By asking for "another first kiss" he's hoping they can find a way to rekindle that fire. In spite of a little bit of their trademark dark moodiness in a happy-sounding song, it's actually kind of optimistic by their standards. It reminds me a lot of "Pet Name" from their Factory Showroom album (and was probably written about the same time. An early, more rocked-out version of it appeared on the MP3-only album "Long Tall Weekend", which came out shortly after Factory Showroom.) | |
