Band: They Might Be Giants
Song: Experimental Film
Album: The Spine
Tabbed By: David Huzyk (Babaca)
Ok, so i usually tab out punk bands, or faster songs at least, but I had to do this song.
I have a friend who always brings his digital camera around with him, and he always takes
video footage using it. So just the other day he decides he's going to put all this footage
together to create a music video. He was having trouble trying to find what song to use,
but when he heard this song it was perfect. It fit the video perfectly. So he sent me this
wonderful music video made up of all the great times me and my friends had. It was touching!
Ionno, I just felt the need to learn this song, so I did. And then i decided why the hell
not tab it. So its pretty easy, just follow the chords. The solo is very slow as well, so
no trouble there. Enjoy!

| This is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. By the way- discovered it on homestar Runner. How cool is that? I agree with the theory of life being an experimental film, both as the song's meaning, and as a real life philiosophy. ~Fledgehog | |

| k figured it out.... the color of infinity inside an empty glass. Let's say your life is an experimental film. What color would everythign in the world look like? I'm squinting my eyes and turning off and on and on and off the light. he's trying to adjust his lighting to capture everything that happens in the universe... all the light in the universe would be somewhat bright, so he has to squint his eyes lol. TMBG likes to make jokes about how it's annoying to try to get through the lyrics when really it's so much fun, so they make the joke that they're "turning off" meaning turning people off, and going "on and on" lol | |

| I like to think the narrator might be the same guy from "Dr Worm". Like he moved on from his rock star fantasy and has now thrust himself with equally naive enthusiasm into the idea of making art films instead. | |

| This soong is obviously, at least to me, trying to show to show how pretentious and full of themselves, if a film can be full of itself, experimental films are. 'The color of infinity" "the part that makes your face implode" "even though i cant explain it" all these lyrics show how ridiculous it can be trying to find a real meaning in experimental films like that one by salvador dali of which the title has escaped me right now. Anyways, the "yeahs" in the background are hilarious to me. Love homestarrunner! | |
