G D
Will only lead to sleep
E Bmin
And sleeping is a gateway drug
E E G A7

Being awake is swimming around
In a lake of the undead
And the undead are like a bunch of friends
that demand constant attention
Chorus 2:
Demanding constant attention
will only lead to attention
and once they have your attention
They will use it to ask for attention
and once they have your attention
They will use it to ask for attention
Verse 4:
Wearing a raincoat is flying around
In a yellow rubber airplaine made out
of a raincoat. yes,
But when you think of that
you hurt your mind and need
your mind for later on
Verse 5:
Needing a mind for later on is
a friend that comes at a price
But when you hate the friend that
comes at a price you will play
the drums to help you sleep

| This song really, really, really reminds me of the Monkees' track "Just a Game", and it furthers my theory that Linnell is somewhat of a Micky Dolenz fan. | |

| wearing a raincoat is an adjective that he's using like a noun..... I am so confused from there on. How come TMBG.org doesn't have this album on there?? | |

| Each part, taken by itself, almost makes logical sence, but avoids it so nimbly as to make you feel that you merely imagined it. | |

| I love it. A self-perpetuating song. One of the most lyrically playful TMBG songs to date. | |

| Steve, "wearing a raincoat" is a gerund phrase, which means it's perfectly fine if it's used as a noun. Sort of like "mowing the lawn makes me tired" or some such phrase. And this song is amazing. It's so crazy and random; the ultimate stream of consciousness, and if I knew more about TMBG, I'd be able to put forth or deny the idea that they were tripping on acid while this song was written. | |
