E
In this place, saw her face

He was more than happier,

Made for him, it’s a sin,
E7
That she was not faithful,
E
She couldn’t be foolishly
E7 E
More unfaithful if she tried
E7
He did not care, wanted her
Despite her lies and wandering eyes
G#5 A5 E5
He deserves the very best
G#5 A5 E5
But he loves her none the less
E C Am
She’s forgotten her first love
E C Am
He’s forgotten that she ever went away and broke his heart
Am Em C Am
God only knows that he has shown, her more love than she deserves
Em C
There’ll come a time, when she’ll find
Am Em
That he’s not there to give her love and he’ll be gone away from her forever……

| Good explanation Mabes. The story is found in Hosea 1-3. This is definately Third Day's best song. The solo at the end is awesome. | |

| This song is about a story in the Old Testament book of Hosea. Gomer was Hosea's wife. She had been a prostitute and God told Hosea to go take Gomer as his wife, so Hosea was obedient and did that. After a while, Gomer left him and went back to being a prostitute. God told Hosea to go get his wife and tell her that she was to live with him. He went and bought her and she came to live with him then. I think this is a very good picture of what Jesus did for us. Our sin is just as ugly and disgusting as that of this prostitute when compared with God's righteousness. nevertheless, God sent Jesus to save us. And we killed Him. Yet he continues to love us, even when we turn away from him and go right back to committing the very sins that He died for. He still loves us anyway and comes back for us and tells us that we aren't to sin anymore, but are to follow Him. | |
