This song makes me cry. It's so beautiful. I love it. So sad. It's like he's accepting all the things that he did wrong in a past relationship. He's finally coming to terms with what went wrong and his character flaws, the things he did that he can't deny now, he didn't know he was doing them at the time, he didn't know how it was affecting her. Anyways, that's exactly what I'm going through right now. Self-realization is a biotch. | I see this in a few parts. the first being how great these two were for each other. in all of society, they can be who they are, because they have each other. they are both strong together. he's thinking about the great sex, and the even hotter connection in how it brings them together. and because of this rape(wounded) she left. they have been seperated, and it is like a huge BOOM. and he wishes the relationship could go back to the passion it once was, but they've gone too far. he has lost his "1000 julys" which is a metaphore, for the most intense connection he has ever felt. Blue is just one big story in my opinion. | |

| I think this song is about a guy who's basically seen by everyone as this really shallow.. too weird to have a deep relationship with.. perhaps mean, lashes out easily.. kind of guy. But he's had this relationship with this girl who's basically the only person that's stuck around and she is the only person that can disarm him in an argument... just by STANDING there in front of him. And he's trying to describe (not necessarily to her, but to us, the listener) that when they ARE having sex and she comes, he feels a connection that he'll probably never be able to truly describe or even admit to, not even her, and that's why they're not together anymore. Because even though she's probably the only real connection he's felt, he can't (doesn't have the courage) to overcome what he's been all of his life and describe it to her. | |
