Verse #1:

F C A#
I'm only pretty sure that I can't take anymore. Before you
F C A#
take a swing, I wonder what are we fighting
F C A#
for. When I say out loud, I want to get out of this, I wonder
F C A#
Is there anything I'm gonna miss
A#
I wonder

Chorus1(clean)

G C
How's it gonna be, when you don't know me,
G A#
How's it gonna be, when you're sure I'm not there,
G C
How's it gonna be, when there's no one there to talk to,
G A#
Between you and me, 'cause I don't care, How's it gonna

F C A#
be...

Intro Riff 2X

Verse #2:

F C A#
Where we used to laugh, there's a shouting match. Sharp as a thumbnail
F C A#
scratch. A silence I can't ignore. Like the hammock by the doorway
F C A#
we spent time in, swing's empty. I don't see lightning like last fall,
F C A#
when it was always about to hit me
A#
I wonder

Chorus 2(clean):

G C
How's it gonna be, when it goes down
G A#
How's it gonna be, when you're not around
G C
How's it gonna be, when you found out there was nothing
G A#
Between you and me, 'cause I don't care, How's it gonna

F C A#
be...

-distortion-

G A# F C
How's it gonna be when you don't know me anymore
G A#
How's it gonna be

F C A#
Wanna kill myself like he did
F C A#
the salt of love dreary air
F C A#
I wanna taste the salt of your skin
F C A#
the salt of the bloomy air the bloomy air (blew my head?)

G A# F C
How's it gonna be when you don't know me anymore
G A#
How's it gonna be

-end distortion-

Intro Riff 2X

This song to me is about the uncertainties of the future with someone you love. It's about remembering the good times you had with that person and longing for it again. A lot of people can relate to this.

This song was my graduation back in 1999. The chorus of "How's it going to be when you don't know me, How's it going to be when you're sure I'm not there, How's it going to be." When I hear this song memories of friends and relationships come to my mind.
