| I haven't read that book either, but now that I know 3eb wrote a song about it I WILL surely read it. I think the girl, as crashbangboom said used him, and also about sex... and is just like when you think you know somebody and you are like connected to that person, but then you realize that person is false, and is not even being himself/herself so what are you really liking is an idea. "When you were yourself it tasted sweet, but it sour into a routine deceit" is when yo get boring of that person, because she/he is always doing the same things that it gets into a boring routine. I think that the girl of who he is talking about was so rich, but empty because her parents never puted attention to her (Rich daddy left you with a parachute... but you're daddy left you with no love) and maybe that is an influence of why she is the way she is. well thanks for reading... if you ever get to read these coment lol! | |

| "and now I realize you never heard one goddamned word I ever said" this is one of those songs I play when I'm feeling dangerous, it's usually played loud on repeat four or five times. fucking classic song. going on a mix tape later...though I doubt I'll share it with anyone, hahahaha. I'm not proud of my failures, no! "the phone would ring like a joke that's left unsaid," ...don't even need to explain why that rules. "well this drama is a bore, and I don't want to play no more - WHY? WHY?" yep. | |

| Wow this song sounds like it's about me in a way. i've been with a guy for a little over a year now and things are starting to get a little too boring. I care about him, but I'm starting to realize (and we have talked about it) that I've been hurt too much by my father's inablity to accept me and my ex of nearly 10 yrs leaving me and giving me no reason. After my ex left me I did some crazy things for a couple of years, up until I met my current boyfriend. This past year I gave all that up, but now I'm realizing that we rushed into things way too fast. All we do is watch TV, occasionaly go to the movies, and rarely spend intimate time together. Plus I've been very depressed the past few months and don't seem to feel anything anymore. And btw I do have major issues with my dad, he's always been very critical of me, he thinks money and owning nice things is a way to show someone you love them. I'm a bad person, oops. | |

| I haven't read the Great Gatsby or whatever, so I dunno about THAT meaning. But I think it's about this couple who don't have sex anymore and they've wasted a whole year. "it always seems the juices used to flow in the car, in the kitchen, you were good to go but now we're stuck with the tube" 'Tube' I think, referring to a dildo. | |

| The "aqua tube" part might also fit into the Gatsby explanation: didn't the book end up with Gatsby floating on a tube in his pool? (trying not to spoil it for those who haven't read) | |
