I was doing some figuring out with this one because I wanted to learn it so badly
and nobody has anything for it. I just recently saw Third Eye Blind and was
pretty close to them. I watched Tony and it helped me figure some things out for
the song when I got home. So this is what I have for it.
The tuning is EADGBD and that is for sure because Tony Fredianelli said so on his
site. It's almost standard except the high E gets tuned down a whole step
(although you could probably play it in standard and it wouldn't sound too much different).

The hardest thing to get the hang of is that you almost have to be playing two
parts at once, combined into one part. The way I do it is my first finger plays
all the single notes and my second and third fingers do all the harmonics. That
pattern continues for the verses.

So that is the basis of the song from what I have gathered. There are maybe some
other little fills at certain parts but this is the main gist of it all. It should
be pretty accurate. I hope this helps and maybe some other people will have more

| Um yeah//.. so the lyrics are kinda messed up... the only important correction would be "Where pigeons fly till they gather round the fallen ones" i dont know how you got what " and did you stop, to gather round the fallen ones".. BUT ANYWAYS.. i love this song . it symbolizes a relationship that died out, but one person is still holding on. He knows that its hopeless to continue to care for her but he will cling to her any way he can. FOR EXAMPLE: " i kept your sweater, til the scent was gone, WRAPPED up in my hands when the days were long, but im still sniffing......." Even though he knows the scent is gone (relationship) he continues to smell it hoping for some sort of connection with her. (he doesnt want to accept that its over) "Cause it's so good to believe But you turn my hope into a weapon" - when he says this i think he'd referring to how he will never give up and how he knows he's chasing something thats over... but he'd still rather be sold "sweet forgets" and find comfort in horoscopes, hoping to find some justification or confensation for the loss of a relationship. | |

| InCuBuS you are right, no one realizes how amazing is this song! definitely is one of my favorites. Stephan is like the best songwriter ever, I love this song! I think that this song has many meanings; like caring for a person, hoping him/her to call you "just give me a call when you feel better"... but maybe these person does not care that much for you "but you never do". I love the line of "Freud said that love was a good psychosis, but I don't know I've had to many doses" I think it means that love can heal us sometimes and end with the monotony of our lifes, but he (stephan) is like trying to see it in a way, that he had been hurted many times that he is just sick of it. The chorus is like saying; "You can count on me, I'll be here for you! But please don't lie to me, don't end with my hopes." The sweetest line is "I kept your sweater till the scent was gone, wrapped up in my hands when the days were long" is like when you love someone so much and you've got his/her sweater you could smell it for hours, and it comes a time that you had smelled it so much, that there is no scent left to smell. I LOVE this song! I think my ideas are kind of complex, but that's what I think it means and I just got to say that 3EB ROCKS! | |
