Tunning: Standard

I saw a lot of transcriptions of this song, and none of them with
standard tunning, all of them with some bizzare open tunning. N-e-ways base
on what i saw and on my guitar skills he're a simple and accurated
transcription of the song (for the verse, chorus, pre-chorus, outro riff at
the very less).
Intro (clean)

| Third Eye Blind have the unique ability to handle such delicate and tetchy subject matter with the utmost grace adn earnesty. This song is uplifting, powerful and totally original - none of the cliche that can arise out of such subject matter. Stephan's lyrics are always incredible, particularly here and in 'Motorcycle Drive-by' and 'Hows it Gonna Be'. I agree with Sobeautiful that the song is musically fantastic - the haunting, reverbatating verses interspersed with powerful, distorted guitar-based choruses. And the song doesn't use conventional song structure, instead flowing freely unlike most badns of this genre. Genre being a word to use loosely here as this band and this song particularly are highly original. I particularly love how at the end it ascends into pure joy; Back down the bully to the back of the bus Cause it's time for them to be scared of us Till you're yelling, how we living cause you got the ball Then you rock on baby, rock on, your rock on On and on You're a summer time hottie with her socks in the air Screaming I don't care baby I don't care The 'socks in the air' metaphor is an unusual one particularly, and is strangely powerful and vivid. | |

| This is an amazing song! when I first listen to "Blue" I knew since that instant that this was my favorite song of the album! I love them! Is a sweet song. Stephen ROCKS! he really knows how to write. I think is about a girl that was sexualy abused and she is traumatized and ashamed of what had happened to her. But he loves her and he's telling her that everythings okay that he will be there, that he misses her. "I never claimed to understand what happens after dark" is my favorite line and it makes me think that he is telling her that when something bad happens to us, when we had certain problem we don't know how's it gonna end up everything when it's over. I LOVE 3eb! I LOVE this song! | |

| Personally i thought it was about a girl who was raped and beaten by her boyfriend and the eyes you see the song through loved this girl but they were just friends but its killing him because he loves her and wants to be with her, but he cant becasue shes not ready for a relationship, shes still to 'wounded' to face the world. "And the friends with you, we should have known this fool Well I guess we missed the mark Still my fingers catch the sparks at the thought of Them touching you Now you're wounded" The girls friends and especailly this guy, are blaming themselves for not seeing that this guy would do this. "Well I never claimed to understand What happens after dark" When i hear this i think about the would-be-lover trying to think about how many times the boyfriend had beaten the girl he loves. I get the impression she had been beaten a lot and finally she stood up to him and she paid dearly. Just some thoughts! | |

| This is such a sweet song.. I almost cried the first time I heard it. The music's powerful and the way Stephan sings it gives me chills, especially towards the ending. "Now it's fall, and your shoulders get tighter Nervous flicks on the lighter, boots Your pissed off poets, your women's groups And the friends with you, we should have known this fool Well I guess we missed the mark Still my fingers catch the sparks at the thought of Them touching you Now you're wounded" Beautiful. | |

| I have always wondered why the person in the song says, "My fingers catch sparks at the thought of them touch you WHEN you're wounded" or"...NOW you're wounded" I agree with all of you that this is a song about rape, and that the singer wants her to get better, but why does he say "when" and "now" then? | |

| This has to be the most amazing CD i own, Stephen and the boys are fucking geniuses, and this CD represents their best work. I must have listened to this song a million times my freshman year in High School, and to me it's one of those CD's that when you listen to it, takes you back to a completely different time. There have been very few CD's that can have that effect on me | |

| i don't think this song HAS to be about a girl who was raped. I think it could be taken as about a guy who really hurt this girl emotionally b/c they shouldn't have been together but he really loves her. She doesn't feel like she's allowed to talk to him b/c his friends didn't like her b/c she was with him and that's also the thing about pride. The song is about how he knows she has moved to another place/perhaps another guy but he misses her. | |
