artist: Third Eye Blind
SongTitle: Wounded
Tabs: This is my absolute favorite song off of 3eb's latest release
"Blue". I've been working on this song for a long time, and I think I
pretty much have it. This is in an open tuning, so I'm sure that there
are plenty of ways to play some of the chords, and this is the way that I
think sounds the best. If you dont like my way, be inventive and find a
chord that is better than mine! Don't really go by the number of strums
in the chord, but go by the actual chord and get the strumming pattern
yourself. If ya have any questions or suggestions, e-mail me at
DaMuZikBoi@aol.com! Enjoy!

And the bruises that you feel will heal
And I hope you come around
Cuz we're missing you
You used to speak so easy
Now you're afraid to talk to me
It's like walking with the wounded

Well let me break it down till I force the issue
We miss your face, ya know I wish you
Would come back down to the Dalva Bar, you tell em
"That's just my battle scar!"
I wanna kiss you, and knock em down like we used to
You're the marigold
Till you're walkin down shakin that a** again
And then you walk on baby walk on walk on (on and on)
You're an angel in the pit with her hands in the air
And we're missing you
Verse x3 (clean):
Now it's fall, and your shoulders get tighter
Nervous flicks on the lighter, boots
Your pissed off poets, your womens groups
And the friends with you, we should have known this fool
Well I guess we missed the mark
Still my fingers catch those sparks at the thought of
Touching you
Now you're wounded
*Play Pre-Chorus riff here x1 (with distortion)*
*Then, Play Chorus riff here x6 (with distortion)*
Lemme break it down till i force the issue
You never come around and you know we miss you
Well nobody took your pride away
That's something people say
Back down the bully to the back of the bus
Cause it's time for them to be scared of us
Till you're yellin, how we living cause you got the ball
Then you rock on baby rock on you rock on (on and on)
You're a summertime hottie with her socks in the air
Screamin, "I don't care baby, I don't care! NOOOO!"
You say you don't know, You say you can't grow
(You're the marigold)
All I know is we're missing you, you x2

| "Still my fingers catch the sparks at the thought of Them touching you" "Back down the bully to the back of the bus Cause it's time for them to be scared of us" The singer is trying to convince this girl to come out of hiding and resume her life. But I think he's also telling her how angry he is with whoever assaulted her. He wishes he could have stopped it and he also wishes he could make them pay | |

| its about a girl who got raped, and the psychological effect its having on her its worse than the psychological effect is has on most women and its getting her really depressed, maybe suicidal, the boyfriend is having a really hard time dealing with it as well, because, he wants to be able to well, maybe not sex, but be able to kiss her and make out with her again and he wants to be able to act normally because sometimes when he does something, she takes it the wrong way and gets pissed, and he wants her to be okay just because he loves her, and he really wants to torture and kill the guy who did it. I'd know, i've been threw it... | |

| amazing tale of friendship. easily the best song on the album. this girl got raped or beat or similarly abused and now she's afraid of going back out, ashamed of the bruises and scars (both physical and emotional). she refuses to talk to anyone about it, and he's trying to convince her to just go on with her life, to be proud of who she is and be strong again. he blames himself for not seeing it coming, and he wants to get back at the guy who did it to her, but most of all he wants to see her happy again. | |
