| i think "when the worms come" means when death comes. or thus when the relationship dies. when it's over. so basically, we won't regret. this is the only song i realllllly wish they had played when i saw 3eb last fall. | |

| I could sing this song forwards and backwards, it's that good. This is my ALL-TIME favorite song. It's so beautiful and I love the meaning, too. Wanting someone so bad, but you can only have them in your dreams. Literally. | |

| yep - the song is about love. but come on, its about sex and drugs - getting high and coming down. the song starts with children's voices echoing, mysterious femininity, the vibe and then comes down with mortality - bones in a graveyard. upon return to reality everything becomes crystal clear again - every detail of what's happening and the room they're in - postcoital of course. | |

| i think the worms refers to "opening a can of worms" if ya'll have heard of that phrase. when someone does that trouble comes in so he says when the worms come as to when the can of worms is opened....maybe? i dunno. | |

| It's awesome how Stephan captured the innocense of young love in it's purest form, it's not about the future or what it holds, it's about what is wanted now, hence the line "there will be no regrets when the worms come". | |

| Well i did a project in my english class on stephan jenkins as a poet, and one of the songs i used was this one (i also did god of wine and motorcycle drive by). since we just also read catcher in the rye in that class, i saw a connection. "The suckers lose themselves in the games they learn to play Children love to sing but then their voices slowly fade away People always take a step away from what is true That's why I like you around" the only people Holden liked were true, innocent, smart. He thought everyone was a sucker & a fake. | |

| As for, "Send me you all your vampires, I want you", I think that means that even though she has all these "vampires", he wants her nonetheless. Vampires could be used in reference to her bad side, or the things that may bother him or things that make her seem "evil" like annoying habits or whatnot. ho hum | |

| i think this is really about a guy who's with a girl and he doesn't want things to change as they get older and closer to death; he wants to stay with her, and after all the time that has passed, he still wants her. "The suckers lose themselves in the games they learn to play / Children love to sing but then their voices slowly fade away / People always take a step away from what is true / That's why I like you around" - I think this refers to the way people get so caught up in all the things they can do that they forget how innocent and pure things can really be. Children are so innocent when they are younger but all that soon fades away. People are always scared of what is pure and innocent and true, but he likes this girl because she makes him think of how love should really be. | |
