| Now, i could be wrong about this, but: "and helping words aren’t always kind when one more kiss could kill you" I think "kiss" in this instance is being used as a metaphor for kind words, saying rather than "kiss" you, or go about saying something in a kind way, sometimes you have to be hard on someone to get them to see the truth. Also, though it can apply to anything and everything, i think the meaning of this song leans more towards a drug addiction. but, who knows? | |

| In my own opinion I think this song is more about having friends that will hurt you for you own good. So that you can really discover yourself and see reality for what it really is. But hey... I could be wrong. :) | |

| i think it's kind of amusing that the last lines on their cd, which are in this song for you non cd buying mp3 fags, are "you've got to play it again." i dont really know if it has any effect on anyone, i doubt it was intentional. i still think its kind of funny thoguh. | |

| This song is all about someone who is helping a friend getting off drugs when he is seriously hooked. And that to be a good friend you sometimes have to hurt them in a way that they think that you're against them but you're really jsut looking out for them and doing what's best. | |

| Wow, wasn't that incredibly clever of you Johnny. Grow up you little fuck-tard, maybe you might become a pillar of society, rather than one of the millions of idiots that populate this world. Anyway, back to the song. I definatly agree that it's about some kind of addiction. It could be drugs, it could be about a bad realtionship. "you’ve so much to give and there’s so much you need ". Perhaps this means that the person dustin is singing about (could be about dustin himself) shold get himself out of this addiction, as he has so much to offer the world, and if he doesn't he'll lose all the good he could of offered, and all the good he could or recieved. | |

| this is about how some friends will just watch their friends self-destruct but a real friend doesnt want to see his friends hurt and is willing to hurt him in order to save him from greater pain. i've had a time when i couldve saved a close friend from ruining things for himself but i was too scared to hurt him in the short term that i let him hurt himself in the long term | |

| I don't know why people don't get that Thrice lyrics are more general.. Most people focus on the one verse and not the whole thing.. Read longer and you'll realize that he writes "one more kiss could kill you" signifying that he's talking about almost any addiction i.e. work, a girl/guy, or a drug. And how life is a game kind of and you go forever doing nothing but learning. and finding things out for yourself.. please befor you comment READ! | |

| Well, this song to me is about friendship, and how a true friend helps you by hurting you (in a way) when you're going through something (drugs, love, etc.), "when one more kiss could kill you, they help you realize that", i suppose it means, that if you're about to get fucked for some reason or the situation you're going trough, they help you (by hurting you/stabbing you in the front) and they make you realize that if they "stab you in the front" you will find out that they did it because they're helping you find a better life or a better way to look at it, and it also tells you to accept the help a real friend is trying to give you. "shortcuts through graveyards and a brand new way to breathe"..But like foreverxisxtoday said..I could be totally wrong, that is just the way i understand this song, and i really don't know how to explain it very well. | |
