| this song to me is about selling out. Thrice sold out, they no longer play any of their old stuff at concerts and they have totally changed their sound. How appropriate that a song about money would be the first track on their first comercial release. I woudnt mind if they were still good, and if they played their old music when you saw them live but god damn! Their new albumn even had explanations of every song as the insert, how pompous is that? | |

| losemoney, youre a fuckin idiot. the song is OBVIOUSLY not about selling out but about poor/dying/diseased africans who nobody cares to support. i havent heard a single complaint about the song explanations either; personally, i enjoyed them. so fuck you. | |

| "all yall bitchin about america need to stfu or get the hell out " Well aren't you the good little German. If there weren't people that stood up and said this isn't right in the face of what's blatantly wrong and did what they could to change things, THERE WOULDN'T BE AN AMERICA. So if you're comfortable with your government stomping all over the world killing children and lying to you about it, then by all means take your advice and STFU. As for the people that are actually patriotic enough to care about their countries well-being...continue to dissent. | |

| why do you people feel the need to post the meaning of a song that is so blatently obviously? theres maybe 2 directions this song could take and both are pretty clear. just stop it. thrice were never amazing to begin with, but i like Illusion of Safety. the lyrics are so much better on that album. here, they sound so contrived and unpoetic. they deserted art for a message. only a great artist can balance both. he had done so on Illusion of Safety...he dumbed it down for idiots like you people who read these lyrics and think they're so fucking profound. | |

| ahhh, you douchers suck, an artist has to have a message, thats the entire reason they become artist in the first place, they need to get a message across. Except of course like stupid bands who only sing about screwed up relationships and how many girls they want to fondle. There is point to commenting to this song, if there wasn't, nopoetic, why in the hell do you have an account on this website?? I think thrice is more educated about the world than most of the rest of the world is, and that's a good thing | |
