| Does anybody know if Dustin based this song on a book? I would like to read more into it but I don't have the greatest knowledge of literature. This song is haunting, I am just captivated by it. Same with Motion Isn’t Meaning. You can just hear the passion in Dustin’s voice in both of these songs. | |

| No. I will tell you what this song means. It means that man is goin to end the world."We shot the sun from the sky" and With all that people still expect to have their dreams met when they die, even though some people don't deserve it.They only care for themselves. NOt days, not years, but for centureies the same cycle continues and everyone falls into the great divide | |

| Call everyone to arms We'll fill the heavens With the poisoned dreams of man Call everyone to arms We forged these weapons With the strength of our own hands ----- US sets eye in other countries riches and Nature's resource, then invade with our 'right' (our weapon) created by us. We shot the sun from the sky Apollo dead at our feet We wander lost in the rye And gather 'round in the street ----- We culminated that, when we saw what we had done, we did not care. For centuries we watched the sky And burned to bridge the great divide --- We killed diversity. Cultural Leveling Eclipse the body with stones And lay him down with the rest I smile when I am alone And shed a tear for the press ---- We just pile up our 'victims' with the rest, and we 'smile' when we stare at our own grateness, and seeing we are the greatest. For centuries we watched the sky And burned to bridge the great divide We dug the body up We drank his golden blood And light shone from our eyes But it was not enough And we still dream of deicide ---- We destroyed diversity, we left it in the past, and took the 'best' from our vicitim, then we were upgraded, but it wasn't enough, we needed to eliminate the most powerful. But now we burn with power and pride -- Now we destroy with our power and Pride. My 2 cents. | |

| The book Dgomez27 is "Catcher in the Rye" Awesome book by the way, very cynical and comical. But ya the line "we wandered lost in the rye" refers to the children who were innocent and lost wandering in the rye and how the character in the book wanted to save them all. Therefore preserving innocents. I don't think it's based on God at all really. Just because they're Christian doesn't mean that every song has a reference to that. Apollo was the son of Zeus. If you want to relate this to God and Jesus go for it. But I'd find it ironic that Christians would use polytheisim to make an analogy to Christianity. Apollo is also technically the God of music. So by shooting him out of the sky they might be saying we killed music. Look at all the pop crap that is out there. We took the God of music and layed him down with "the rest". Ya, I agree with that. We did forge these weapons (the artists) with our hands and they are poisoned by the dreams of man (money). It's all an act for the press, but they are all happy with the money and fame they have. I could be wrong, but I think that Ghostly also had a great angle on it. | |

| Ok, to me this song really ties in with things that are occuring here recently. Something very strange ties in with this song. I have some evidence of eclipses and things to come. I found this on a website: This letter was written eight weeks ago, and therefore some time before Pope John Paul 11's health deteriorated significantly. It is both sad but synchronistic that he should die, as he was born, on a solar eclipse. And, of course, his funeral will be held on the day of the solar eclipse itself, April 8th, 2005. Prince Charles and his bride to be will now be married on the 9th. We may not be able to see Friday's solar eclipse but it is nonetheless a portent of great things to come, first and foremost on the world's stage, and second, in our own lives should we have anything in our own birth horoscope that is touched by it. Back in the time of ancient Sumeria (today's Iraq) eclipses were considered omens of doom and disaster but modern astrologers tend to view them as signals of key world events and major global change, sometimes very good change - the tearing down of the Berlin Wall was presaged by the total lunar eclipse of 17 August 1989, and Pope John Paul 11 was born on the solar eclipse of May 18th 1920. And of course on this eclipse Prince Charles will marry his long-time love, Camilla Parker Bowles. Whatever else makes our news headlines during the next couple of weeks, babies born at this time will surely have a powerful destiny to fulfil. They will be our future movers and shakers. This is a really powerful song. They talk about the great divide, to me that sounds like the Berlin Wall being torn down on the eclipse. John Pauls birth and death are very coincidental, occuring both on eclipses. How strange is that? | |
