| WillBill is pretty much on the money. I just wanted to add, I think the Blue Light lyric is referring to television. If you ever look at a room with a TV on and the lights off, the light from the TV generally looks blue. He's saying we believe anything the T.V. tells | |

| I think this song is just about any established orginization, weither political, religous, or business, only alowing there truth to be seen and blinding the world to what else out there. | |

| "the blue light spills like oceans we smile and let it in it cures us of our questions like hoods on peregrine" Like someone else mentioned, the blue light is T.V. which gives answers most people are satisfied with. It covers the truth, and we accept it. "knowledge locked in a tower barons will hold the key but if knowledge is power, know this is tyranny all we're asking for is what's ours" They are hiding the truth, keeping it "locked" up, so we have no access to it. But, "knowledge is power," therefore the people withholding the truth have all the power, because they have the knowledge. Because they have all the power, they are tyrants. "you think they're selling you truth, truth is, they're selling you out truth is, they're selling you out" People take what magazines, T.V., even the governent says as truth, but it's not. "the black ink fuels our notions that all the facts are in it cures us of our questions like hoods on peregrine" "The black ink" is referring to newspapers, magazines, etc. People take the news as fact and do not question its credibility. "all we're asking for is what's ours you think they're selling you truth but they're just selling you and if we keep buying in the line between lies and truth will wear paper thin, paper thin" If we keep taking what the media says as fact, then there will be no difference between what is real and what is not. We will just be robots, sort of. I love Thrice. | |

| Amazing song, these guys are lyrical geniuses. I'm kinda confused about the meaning of peregrine though, I know it means like a stranger or traveler or a falcon, but that doesn't seem to make sense in this song... Any ideas? | |

| The idea was first brought to me by garyebersbach's comment on Paper Tigers (its the first one, if you want to check it out) Both of these songs remind me of the novel Fahrenheit 451. I read the book about 3 weeks ago. The 'firemen' destroy the books because it is supposedly bad for the people, but by doing so, they are keeping the society from knowledge. There is one scene where a woman is in a 'tower' with her books. She refused to leave when the firemen told her too, so they burnt her along with her books. Pretty good book, if you ask me. | |

| I too agree with wildbill. I also made a slight connection with school. (through my experience) School is now pointless. It once was a wonderful thing to go and learn. Now everything we "learn" is just things we will forget the second we are through with that class. Many teachers at my school only teach for money (selling you out). I actually want to learn as much as I can about what I take interest in, but it is hard to when there is hardly a choice (all we're asking for is what's ours). I dunno, just saw an alternate meaning there. Great song also! | |

| I agree totally with antisocialkatie. The government is controlling the media to what it says about the government and what information we are given while the real information is 'locked in a tower', or only known to the exuctive part of the government most likely, and only 'barons will hold the key', or the President keeps this knowledge locked up. And while the public thinks they are being fully informed, there are cover-ups and more truths behind every sentence the media feeds us. | |
