	I just want to point out the myriad of references to the heart and the blood it pumps. "Men without chests" would entail that they don't have a heart, which is their "only compass" ("reason) to guide and restrain the "appetite." In Alexander Pope's Essay on Man, he describes two forces within a person: reason and self-love (aka emotion or "our iron will".) Self-love is the stronger of the two, since it deals with what is close at hand, the desires of the moment, but reason is the better and more important one because it looks to the future and looks at the consequences. It's the force that holds reason in check (usually.)

	it may not be a solo, but it sounds really cool, awesome lyrics too, theres not much i can say that hasn't been said already, but the song sort of gives me the feeling that dustin is saying if we aren't careful, technology will take over. Is there a way to change the lyrics so that they are right like the ones that randomconvogirl posted?

	The lyrics as posted match that of the Cd's inlet. That said, randomconvogirl definitely has the correct lyrics, for anyone who has ever actually heard the song. I'm not sure why that is, I have seen similar mistakes in a Sum41 Cd inlet. Perhaps it was original how the song was intended to be sung. Now as to how it sounds: This song, along with Paper Tigers, has allowed me to seperate Thrice's genre from that of any other band. It takes the vocals to a level that has been described as "barking". The most extreme cases of this occur in the lines "we laugh at honor and are shocked when we find knives in our backs" and simply "look in my eyes". It is not screamo, and yet it is beyond yelling. Simply put, no other band has sucessfully recreated that kind of sound, so for me this song is poster example of how unique Thrice can be.

	Good points eternalstroke. Lewis ends the first chapter (Men Without Chests) with "We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst." Very similar to a lyric from the song. Both Lewis and Thrice are awesome.

	Dustin uses a lot of work done by C.S Lewis to inspire his own creation. There is an essay done by C.S Lewis called the abolition of man. Read it and you will understand the meaning of this song. Great job! love this song...
