| This is the song that got me hooked on Thrice. If you love hardcore, you listen to the first half. If you like the BRILLIANT harmonies that Thrice does, wait for the second half. This song shows just how musically brilliant and creative these guys are, splicing two different styles seamlessly with each other. | |

| Hey, Kneecromancer, Dont be so ignorant. What makes a song so good is how versatile it is. This song has a different meaning to everyone. they can relate it in many ways to their life. Thrice is a very creative and very talented band but, They arent the first to come up with this theory and question it. | |

| he says the same thing as in the beginning comix, he just adds a little "and you tell me" at the beginning for effect. 'And you tell me i've no soul to touch no heart to love....' | |

| Before someone jumps all over this let me clarify before someone else does. I agree with RedDeath. And although Thrice does not want to be labeled a Christian band due to the limitations that the title may retain, they all practice Christianity. Therefore it becomes apparent that the songs that talk of faith can be interpreted in that way. If need any more closure or disagree, see for yourself at thrice.net | |

| I dunno about you...however i think Thrice is amazing...not only through their message of their lyrics..but also the instuments...songs like this have such amazing things (i dont really know how to describe it other then acoustics)...I dont know exactly how it happens, but whenever i hear stuff like this, i feel like my heart drops and like im falling endlessly...although im not really sure why this happens, or whether is a good thing or a bad thing...i'm just free in the few moments when i listen to such great music such as Thrice...rock on all | |

| This is an awsome song, and I relate to it to because often I realize that really everything we do is due to chemical reactions in your body, so this song makes a lot of sense to me. But after the second time they sing "no fire in our eyes, no steel in our hearts" etc. .. then he sings something like "and you tell me that the soul is just the one you love, no evil to rise up above" What's he really say there? I've always wondered, thanks. | |

| To me this song is like theres no meaning to anything we do anymore. We just go through the motions and don't but emotion or passion into what we do. Not all of us and not to all we do. But I think generally. | |

| hey Kneecromancer you move on to another thrice song and be wrong about that one too. i'm glad you talked with dustin and found out they are not a christian band..i am glad for you. i'm glad you are satisfied with that too. does it please you to know that? would you not like them if they were? would you still take the time to read the lyrics? would you still buy the cd? am i being annoying? fuck, just like i told someone else in another song... WHO CARES IF THEY ARE CHRISTIAN OR NOT. his lyrics are obviously christian like and if the band claims to be not christian, that is obviously an oversight on their part. now grow up and stop looking for every piece of evidence that leads thrice into not being a christian band...cuz his lyrics are christian, whether YOU LIKE IT OR NOT | |

| I definitely feel that Thrice is Christian in the lyrics and that's really cool. I understand not wanting to be labeled a Christian band...it's cool. :) Great lyrics. | |

| This song to me is about god and his/your relationship w/ him. your striving for perfection and no matter how hard you try you'll never get there. but just when you want to give up the sky opens up and hes there. he helps you up gives you your answers very subtle and breathes new life into your soul. ......oh and the last three lines is how i feel about my ex....oh well | |

| Yeah thats it thricefuckenrules666. Hes talking about statan. You are fucking stupid as all hell. God is referred to as a light, not satan. Satan and hell is considered darkness. A light is a holy thing. Thice is not a Christian band. They say on there site that they are not. Now this may be to not limit there fan base, because if you label yourself as a "Christian Band" people will not listen to you soley because you are a "God Band" playing "god rock" and will not pay attyention no matter how wonderful your music is. It is all done in ignorance. I am not argueing that thrice is a Christian band because they arn't. They have a definite Christian influence on all of there lyrics. The bands lyrical content CAN be interperated how ever you wish. I am not saying what it is. The music is yours to hear how you hear. Music is a diverse thing, thats what makes it so wonderful. Thrice is no exception to this. Their music can be seen how ever you want to see it, wether it be about the ladies, government, or even God. But to argue in favor of satan is ridiculus and juvinile. If Thrice was about satan there would be a lot more "fuck"s, "shit"s, "damn"s, "bitch"s, and other various choice words on their albums. But if you listen, there is not one swear word at all, not even a "hell." So you should think before you try and say with your 11-teen year old mouth "satan rules" because when you get mowed over by the fucking city bus walking on your way to 6th grade in the morning you will be singing a different tune. And not listening to Thrice. I THINK this song about how he is searching for meaning in his life. He has the desires and tempations to do evil things but he knows he should be good. Satan is tempting im with the tainted fruits but Dustin can smell the evil and knows that if he samples it he will rot like the fruit itself. He turns to God to ask guidance and he sees the light of God showing him the way to go. By God's grace he is saved, and now his life has more meaning and direction then ever before. Its like he is reborn. He has a new hope, a new desire to live. God just breathed new life into him and now he has the confidence to do amazing things. With the help of God, all things are possible. Those lines are almost direct biblical quotes. This is what the song means to me, this is what I see in it. You might see something different, and by all means you should. Our differnt life choices cause us to see the world through different eyes and NOTHING looks the same to everyone. So don't try and argue with me or tell me I am wrong. Cause it is my opinions, there is no such thing as a wrong answer here. | |

| this song reminds me of my boyfriend. I'm Christian and he's has no faith in anything what so ever. But it's like, If theres nothing to look forward to when we die, why have we been put here on this earth in the first place? | |
