I dont understand why its so hard to accept someone for who they are... for those of us who think its miserable to believe in God and be a musician at the same time... you're silly, man. Grow up... bigger things to worry about... like... what cheese tastes like on top of peanut butter... Yeah, thats EXACTLY how important it is that someone is of a certain faith... not at all... unless youre a peanut butter aficianado... otherwise, get over it. Dustin is Christian... Thrice is a band about the music... if their music is about what gives them strength, its not them preaching to us... its them hoping they can help us with the things that come from their hearts and their souls... they give to us what they think we should have... Its an infinite benevolence... they love us, so we love them, but we love them forever... hence, it goes on... Now look... the meaning to this song is simple... it is taking yourself out of the context of what the world may or may not be... the weight of life... and leaving it all behind to consult with the one true person that may be able to help you, or more specifically, Dustin... and that is the Lord... Now look... I'm jewish and I get this... stand and feel your worth you fools... _truth

As strong as Dustin's biblical allusions are, this song, to me, is about how there are often people in the world that are cared for so strongly, but at times feel alone, which, in essence, goes to prove that despite our empty feelings inside, there will always be people that care strongly enough to "bring us home" to the place where we should be, even if there are "a million ways that everything could be undone."

docsdaname1999, they say they are not a christian band, but that doesnt mean they aren't christian. and it is completely obvious that Dustin's songs are biblicly related. stop limiting your mind, thats what all of these songs reach out and say. now on to the song...this song, was written about the dream that an astronaut on one of the apollo moon missions had while he slept on the moon, as shaolin2419 greatly explained, but then again, we are talking about thrice, and mainly dustins lyrics, which are very generalized. and almost all of the time relate to some kind of biblical meaning.

it's a dual meaning song. Thrice is not christian, but Dustin does believe in God and Jesus, and the teachings of Jesus about how to treat one another are a great message regardless of what you believe. "Music Box" is about the awe inspired by the vastness of space and the impact it has on people and the feelings it inspires. Dustin says there is a literal interrpretation of the song which I believe is hope and love. Dustin's lyrics seem to be very broad yet specific so that people can see where he's coming from but are left to make up their own minds on what it means to them, because ultimately, he knows what they means to him and what they're about for him, but cares about what others get from them.

First of all i would like to say that I think all of you guys are awesome. you each have your own ideas and you each express them. i would like to caution you all in that bashing on others here is kinda pointless, no one is going to win an argument about whether or not someone in the band believes something or that a song means a certain thing because each of us has a different belief and theres nothing anyone can do or say to change that, its entirely up to the individual. i kind of agree with "DTminimaggit" religion is pretty evil but then again im a follower of Jesus, i wouldnt consider myself a christian but then again its mainly because of association with all that is evil inside of christianity. if you ever want to talk to me about that my email is kingyork@gmail.com. ok now to the song, this song is so beautiful, the first part though it is in reference to the apollo movie, i think, reflects what thrice feels on their tours. the stress of being so far from home but their message is out there so theyre "moving for all mankind". then their families and friends at home are praying for them to return safely "million heads are bowed..." sometimes it feels lonely out there on the road and you feel like giving up but the hope they have and the reasons come from not truly being alone but haveing that fulfillment in Christ. unseen love, sons and heirs of grace, children of light, all of those are attributes of God as described in passages like 1John. i love this song. Peace be with you all

docdam wateva u are competly wrong! thrice is not a christian band as such but many of its members are christian ( so i've been told) and the the correlation between somne of their lyrics and biblicable term/ scriptual referefences is undenyable ( i know i can't spell ) But on the other hand everyone interprets different songs in different ways, but the verse - we are not alone - we feel an unseen love - what exactly do u think it represents? ( questions im not just trying to make a point)

I have never seen a band (short of mewithoutYou), use biblical references and scripture as well as Dustin does on this album. This album has a message that I think is vital to all mankind. We all our created in the image of God and he has a plan for us to do amazing things. We just need to accept it.

dude, many religious wars were started because no 1 would accept that religion. it's not that religion is "the fundamentals of everything evil/bad in the world," DTminimaggit, it's also the people who implore religion wrongly.

Dustin wrote in his comment for this song: "The lyrics to this song were inspired from a documentary on the Apollo moon missions called 'For All Mankind'. The second verse specifically is talking about a dream that one of the astronauts had the first night he slept on the moon. The film is absolutely amazing and Brian Eno did the whole soundtrack to it which is beautiful. I showed the lyrics to my friend who had first shown me the documentary, and he didn't pick up on the connection until I told him, which was great because I wanted the lyrics to have a much broader scope than just a literal interpretation." You can find this in the booklet that accompanies the CD.

I agree completely, it is a fantastic song. The lyrics meld beautifully with the melody and typical of many Thrice songs, it has a theological feel to it. We are not alone, a comforting thought to Christians such as myself. Finishing note of "Stand ready and tall and reflect the light" is pretty darn cool.

U guys ever consider why Thrice is labeled as a nonchristian band w/ blatant christian lyrics? i beileve theyre not labled christian cuz not as much money in it and also allows them to reach a much broader audience, as christian bands reach mainly christians. Cmon guys, get over yourselves, believe in something greater than you. christians: "we are a children of light, stand ready and tall, reflect the light."

I think Thrice are a brilliantly talented band, and this album is a step away from their older stuff, much slower paced etc, but it works. However whether Thrice are christian matters not to me, i personally am an "Athiest" and think that religion (not just christianity) is the fundementals of everything evil in this world, think of the countless wars and lives that have been lost due to religion. Sorry for blaspheming and all that stuff, but its a fact.

i would say that "while someone weaves a spell" would be like the producers and people helping make this album and sheduling shows are doing their job (weaving a spell) and a million stars looking on in witness to our dreams is like either everyone around them (peers, other bands, other famous people:thus stars) or it could be since in the corus he says we are "children of light" in essence we shine like stars and so all thier fans and/or people that are children of light/sons and heirs of grace (follower of Christ: because He is the light) we look on in witness to their dreams of performance. in any case im not bringing "religion" into thrices lyrics, im interpreting them that way, thats just my take
