When I saw Thursday about 2 years ago, Geoff introduced this song by saying he used to have a friend who's mother beat him, and to hide the bruises, she'd put cover up over them. Sad stuff.

This is my favorite song right now. Geoff's lyrics are so intense it's nearly impossible not to feel the words tearing you up inside. My favorite lines are: "In an open book that no one reads/ A misspelled word that no one knows." Those lines are just genius: something is obviously wrong and out in the open for everyone to see, but nobody is willing to acknowledge it. I guess it really is easy not to talk about the big elephant in the middle of the room. Thursday rules!!! I can't wait to see them again next month.

that line is really great..."if you wanted to change the way i look at you" i can just imagine the mother or whoever going "don't look at me like that" like a lot of parents say when their kids look at them filled with hate or fear. and when you can't change your expression...then the fists come down. i can remember that sort of thing happening when i was little, except without the physical abuse. you can't change the look of hate or fear by beating. "if you wanted to change the way i look at you"...you should have change the way you looked at me......i dunno, i'm sort of rambling here, that's just what i got from that particular line yes, this song is quite graphic (in a necessary way)

I saw Thursday play at Leeds a few weeks ago and they were amazing, I didn't know much of there stuff before I saw them. This song is amazing, the lyrics are so deep and I can picture every sentance from the song. This song has to be one of my favourite Thursday songs.
