THURSDAY - CONCEALER

tuning: Dropped D

This is one of those songs that your just going to want to crank up the
distortion and let er' rip. Short, simple, and sweet (yeah bo-i!). You'll have to
excuse me if parts of this song don't sound completely right. I don't have a
guitar in my hands right now. Anyway, have at you!:

Repeat evrything above one more time. I'm not to sure about this next part. It
sounds like there's a lot more going on than I figured out (In fact, that's
exactly what's going on). Oh well, sounds close enough for my taste.

hey... Just last saturday i went to the THIS ISLAND EARTH FEST on long island, and it was amazing. Before thursday played this song Geoff explained that it was about his best friend when he was seven. Geoff really liked this kid, but he was a bit strange. His mom never used to feed him so he would always walk a around with doritos in his pocket. He also used to wear make-up to school ( remeber, he was only seven) and Geoff just thought it was a thing he did, but one day his friend told him that his mom used to beat the shit out of him when he was younger and put COVER-UP over the bruises so he could go to school and not be questioned. So, that is the reason for Geoff writing this song.

I feel like this song gets overlooked sometimes because everyone pays attention to cross out the eyes, how long is the night, and understanding in a car crash. This has always been my favorite Thursday song for alot of reasons. First of all in alot of their other songs like autobiography of a nation they do a little intro and kind of build into the verses, whereas in this they more or less go right into it so whenever they play it live it has an incredible energy right from the start. I love the screaming in this song... "If you want to change the way I look at you" "you won't have time" I love how the screaming in the song goes right into Geoff's singing, like he just picks up and finishes the sentences it really shows contrast but at the same time links different degrees of emotion. Lastly, but most importantly are the lyrics themselves especially the line "cadence beats down on the tar it sounds the same as your fist raining down" Lines like this are really poetic, they flow well and by comparing the two actions it gives you a vivid image of what he's singing about.

This is to "TheAlmightMagz" by the best screaming part ever, I hope you are talking about "if you wanted to change the way I look at you..." at around 1:30 into the song. From 1:15 to 2:00 in this song is probably my favorite music of all time. Genius.

I really like the lyrics to this song. Thursday really has a way with words and this song proves it. "So fold me up and put me back in the place where you used to keep your heart" Everyone needs to see Thursday live, they kick ass!
