	i also think everything is from geoff's point of view! "in this city streets i hide my face i turn away when you look at me and every night when i try to sleep i feel your hands all over my body!" everything in this town reminds him of her... he even thinks that she's looking at him and he can't take it to walk on the streets where his girlfriend was rapped... oh my god this song is so intensive!!!! right now while i'm writing this i realize how terrible it had to be for geoff to live in new brunswick... so sad...

	i love thursday, this song does have meaning to me, the whole leaving the city part really stuck on me, i can't wait till i leave this shithole of a town i live in, i live in this tiny piece of crap in washington, i really love this song it really grows on you, in fact, all of thursdays songs really grow on you, thursday is unlike any other band i have heard.

	i disagree with fraeulein. i dont think that when geoff says "In these city streets I hide my face. I turn away when you look at me And every night when I try and sleep. I feel your hands all over my body." its the girl refering to the rape. i think its geoff talking. i think that when he says"...And every night when i try to sleep, I feel your hands all over my body." he's saying that he cant even look at her because he knows how much she's hurting and the whole "...i feel your hands all over my body" is geoff saying that he feels her pain, that he knows what she's going through.

Geoff's words from an interview: “Dying in New Brunswick” is one of the songs that started the band, because I had this one year that was pretty hard, where I’d say music pretty much saved my life. That girlfriend who I was totally in love with moved to New Brunswick, and her first weekend there, she was raped. It really messed her up, and she was never able to talk to me again because she blamed herself for being in the wrong place, which I definitely wouldn’t have held against her. She couldn’t face me anymore, and it was really hard because I moved out there right after that. I spent all this time in this city that I hated because everything reminded me of the fact that I lost the girl that I loved, and that she wasn’t doing OK either. That’s what the “I’m writing you this letter to let you know that I’m not all right” is about. Even though nothing really happened to me, I definitely felt like New Brunswick was dying."

	this is my favorite Thursday song....i don't know what the particular hate geoff is referring to, or what it is that "they say doesn't happen that often." however, the message is to me, no matter what shit goes down, you can't fight your environment too much. if you smash away the buildings, what would you have left?
