THIS IS MY FAVORITE BAND!!! This is how I play it, and it may not mean
it's right. But it's a great song. Comments & suggestions, welcome.
INTRO:
chord is a D5, structured x0023x
the little riff played over it looks like this:
e ------------------------------------------------------------------|
B ------------------------------------------------------------------|
G ------------------------------------------------------------------|
D -0-0h2-0--7p5p4-----0-0h2-0-------0-----(REPEAT)------------------|
A -----------------------------0h2----------------------------------|
E ------------------------------------------------------------------|
NOTE: the '7s5s4' is one fluid motion
h=hammer
p=pick off
D5
It's hard to rely on my good intentions
When my head's full of things that I can't mention
G
It seems I usually get things right
But I can't understand what I did last night
(INTRO AGAIN)
D5
And it's hard to rely on my own good senses
When I miss so much that requires attention
G
I have to laugh at myself sometimes
And I can't see that I'm not blind
A
CHORUS:
D5
There's little relief
Give us reprieve
Ho-oh
G
For all the things I've left behind
A
I'm positive that I'm not blind
Here's the little riff played over the D5 chord in the chorus (it's only
one the B string)
B ---8-7-5-3------------------
BACK TO INTRO
D5
I'm not afraid that things won't get better
But it feels like this has gone on forever
G
You have to cry with your own good tears
You have to laugh with your own good cheers
D5
And it's hard to rely on my good intentions
When my heads full of things that I can't mention
G
It seems I usually get things right
But I can't understand what I did last night
CHORUS
only change is 3rd lyrics:
And imagine in the world outside
I'm positive that I'm not blind
A
I can't be hard on you
G
Cos I know I've been there too
A
A lot of things for you
Ho-oh
CHORUS
When everyone is cold outside
I clench my fists and close my eyes
Imagining the world outside
And I can't see that I'm not blind
INTRO TO END
Enjoy... Justin Kunz

| To me this song goes out to all the "good kids" who still make mistakes sometimes cuz they arent perfect. Usually, the guy/girl is a good person, but they still managed to screw up the night before and now they're beating themselves up about it. Sometimes life just doesnt let up. The character in the song still knows that they are a good person which almost makes it worse. It says "for all the things I've left behing, Im posative that im not blind" meaning that they have taken the higher roads at times. they arent blind to the difference between right and wrong. good song about human nature | |

| This is a great song! It means the guy got out of hand the night before and he doesn't understand or remember what he did. He does hope things will get better, but he's probably been feeling bad a long time. Thus the line, ".i'm not afraid things won't get better but it feels like this has gone on forever" | |

| Just heard this song on the radio coming home and it brought back a lot of memories. It was the story of my life then and it's the story of my life now. | |
